I am off on 'lurve weekend with Mr Amazing this evening to Chester, it's my belated birthday pressy, and I am going to chill, eat, booze and have a some romance!! I will come back refreshed and ready to do battle on Monday morning!! We really need this, our first overnight, well two nights break in nearly two and a half years!! Hi Flo, El is four, will turn five in July. He is totally able bodied but just walks so sllllllowwwwwwwww! And the running into the road stuff, so the buggy will be a great addition. I will still encourage him to walk on small trips to the local shop etc. But this will make life safer and I will be calmer!! I will see what happens with the DLA, I won't bet on it, though.....ever the cynic!! We do have a good consultant, But I am also not one to back down!! Lisa xx

I went into El's school today to an appointment with his Consultant. We discussed his progress since beginning at the school last May, and we agreed that slow but steady improvents have been made! He was awarded Work of the Week again last also!! A few problems though, his diet is so restricted that he appears to be Anaemic and will have to see a Dietician, and spend a day in hospital having some physical tests on his GDD and also a Fragile X test, amongst some other issues. I am actually happy about this, cause he can't communicate pain and I would like to have any health issues ruled out or found! Also the Consultant asked me about how we doing on getting out and about. I explained that if I take both the Children out, El regularily ends up in his sisters buggy, cause he tires so easily and sometimes becomes so stressed and covers his face from people that we have no option, but to pop him in the buggy, and make my two year old walk!!! Anyway our Doc has decided he should be issued with a Major Elite for these occassions, and is ordering it for us. I feel a bit bad about that cause he can walk, but also has no road sense/stranger danger......But it will solve some problems and prevent some meltdowns for him!! She also agreed to write some notes for his DLA renewel, which I have been putting off, cause I stress out when writing about our crazy life!! He is awarded middle rate and no mobility, and our Doc believes he should have a mobilty award, but we'll see..... Oh, and EL gave the meltdown of his life when taken out of class, and was brought in to see the Doc, because we'd disturbed his breadstick and milk break!!! The Doc normally sees him when he's being angelic, so now she knows the REALITY! LOL! Just wanted to spill........thanks!

I have had the forms since mid Feb!! But have not really have the time to complete them, But I will sort them and the DLA renewel forms this weekend!

Yes, El has a full reportoire of Jungle Sounds! His best one is UNGEE BUNGY (Sounds like!!) and everytime he does it, I can imagine him swinging from tree to tree in a lioncloth!!) We had a particularily interesting experience in a shoe store, we were trying shoes on my daughter and El has a shoe fetish anyway so was in his element, licking the display shoes (yes, licking!!!!) and laughing away to himself with joy.... .....When I spotted him on all fours swaying about 2 metres away from a boy trying on trainers...........when like a flash EL slid across the floor and licked the length of the sole of the trainers as the boy was trying to lace it up! The poor boy's face was agog. His Mother started screaming at El, "what are you doing, you stupid boy!!" ....Everybody was looking, and I just said I was very sorry and tried to walk away, but this 'lady' wanted a confrontation I believe and called him "weird, freak". So I very loudly shouted back, "As I said I am sorry, but my son is Autistic, not a freak, Thankyou!!!! (and I also pressed into her hand one of the ASD cards...... .....I got outside and she came running out into the mall to apologise, she was red with embarrassment, I was triumphant as she dug herself an even bigger hole!!!!! However the staff in another store, were hysterical with laughter when El did his Shoe Loving Act once and even offered to sack the cleaner and employ El for his attention the job!!!

Pearl, Gosh, I am so sorry! <'> I hope JP is ok? Liked the 'balding fool' comment! Fingers crossed for the next job! I expect this is harder for you than JP seeing him being rejected??!! You know where I am if you want a rant! He has come a long way, Pearl. And with a brilliant, supportive and loving Mum like you, it will all come good!! Love Lisa xxx

A better day today in the end! But I had to endure a four song loop for almost two hours! PATIENCE and SHINE by TAKE THAT, CHASING CARS by SNOW PATROL and CRAZY bY GNARLS BARKLEY!! Ellis did a fine round of DAD STYLE DANCING!!

Gawd, I am so with you all on this!! I feel so horrible, Both kids were very hard word yesterday, and I just moaned at them, which I hate doing! Wish the school could run a holiday play scheme or something....dreading the summer break!
