    Tribunal

I've looked through the huge list of schools that i have and there isn't a day school near me. The LEA will probabley suggest an EBD school. If the panel at tribunal go for that i don't know what i'm going to do. Hang myself i expect!!
  9. Hi Nellie Bid's just off to buy it! I'm next
  10. Hi All Just a quick update. I applied on the 24th October on line and today i have received some forms to fill in, someone from the fund is going to contact me next week. They seem to be getting through the back log a bit quicker.

    Tribunal

Well i went to tribunal today. We were in there from 10am-4.45pm. The panel rejected the idea for a placement in a unit for school phobic's, and for re-intergration into mainstream school proposed by the Lea. They also rejected the placement for a specialist As residential school because of the cost to Lea. I now have to look for a day placement some where and go back to tribunal! I AM REALLY 'P***ED OFF!

    statement

Hi Loulou Toes and fingers crossed for you. Good luck!
  13. Hi Kathryn I'm really sorry that they have done this. They refused a statement for my son until we went to tribunal, and then 2 days before the date they changed their mind. And they still didn't address the AS. How old is your daughter?
  14. Congratulations Helen Well done <'>
  15. Hi MIke I received confirmation the next day. I wonder if they received your application?
  16. Thanks for all your comments. The unit would be until Ryan left school and not used as integration back into mainstream. Its not good enough and i am just going to hang out for the tribunal in January, and go for the specialist placement. Ryan doesn't want to go there anyway, especially as its mostly girls, only 2 boys out of 21. He's in the gifted range and 4 GSCE's are a waste of time when he could do so much better with the right support. I don't like the idea of all these pregnant girls being around him either, especially when he's so vunerable.
  17. Well, i visited the unit today. The head mistress was very nice, straight to the point and didn't try to gloss over anything. The unit is for 21 pupils on a part-time basis, where they study for 4 GCSE's. Art, English, Maths and Science. They can also do Food Hygiene and Social Skills. All classes have no more than 7 pupils. They have had 2 pupils in the passed who had AS. Ryan would receive 1 hour and 30 mins tuition per day, for one term. This would take him nearly to the end of yr 10. Year 11 he would receive 2 hours a day. Seeing that he has been out of school 6 months and missed half of year 9 through anxiety and depression, its pretty poor i think! There wasn't any provision for AS, only the benefit of smaller classes and a small enviroment. Not the best education on offer.

    Headaches

My son went through a period of bad headaches, not just pressure from school. He used to go really white, and they would hit at anytime even during the night and on waking. My GP said they were migraines.

    Internet School

Again, I think its a good idea if it suits your child, but i know it wouldn't work for Ryan if i was trying to tutor him at home. And its the cost, trying to get Lea's to pay for anything else is hard enough!
  24. Thanks for that Nellie, i will have a browse through.
