  1. Hi Hev <'> Haven't been here for a long time, it took a while to catch up with what you've going through with S. I know Residential isn't for every child but for some of us it works with meds or without. Do you remember the problems that i used to have with R. He's 6ft 2in now and at residential college, still takes a small dose of meds and doing really well. he still wobbles every now and then, but for us it was the right choice. Hope it all works out for you Beverley
  2. Jut picking myself up of the floor Hev!
  3. Hi Hev If you could see R now after going to a residential school and having a 24 structure, it was the best descison i made. He had alot of problems as you know from my postings at that time. I really think it will help both you and Steve. <'> Good luck!
  4. Saw Casino Royale on Saturday, thoroughly enjoyed it!
  5. <'> <'> <'> Hi Hev, Sorry to hear you are having a rough time. Do you remember when my son went into residential school? I was having a really rough time too, not much different to what you're going through now. And now he is so different, he is at college and doing really well. B.x
  6. Hi Tracy My son was nearly 15 when i applied for a statement, he was also being tutored at home. I also went to tribunal and won a placement at an Asperger's Specific school named on the statement. Don't let your LEA fob you off! Bevalee

    Which EWO's?

Hi Elenes The EWO attached to the school your child attends will deal with it if they are not attending school. Even if it is a different LEA.
  8. Hi Hev Just pm'd you. Just got a referral from Camhs to see Prof Patrick Bolton PDD specialist, didn't take long really, only 6 'Bl***y years', but hey, whats that in the life of someone with AS eh! Given you all the details. Good luck!
  9. <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> We all feel like this, sometimes.
  10. Hi Hev I'm really pleased Camhs seem to be helping you out, its about time eh!
  11. Hi All My son has been seeing a psychiatrist privately because we couldn't get any help from our local Camhs Team. He prescribed Risperdal for aggression which has really helped out alot. We had to go back to Camhs before Xmas as R was suffering from depression ... no help as usual.. they want to see him once a week for anger management, nothing for his depression and stop the Risperdal. He goes to school in Somerset and is home every 3rd weekend. i cannot afford to transport him home every week, he would miss too much schooling and he is doing GCSE's. Plus i don't agree to stopping medication nor do the school because its been so beneficial. The private psychiatrist won't see R anymore because of the Camhs involvement. Any idea's on where i can go next?

    i spoke too soon!

Sorry to hear your news Hev. <'> <'> Did you get your appointment at Camhs?
  13. There has been no support at all! We did have an appointment at Camhs last week. Apparently my childs aggression is still due to my poor parenting skills, when he loses his temper it is becauce i have not laid down firm ground rules!
  14. Well! I had a go at the chocolate fountain last week and it comes a close second!
  15. Exhausted! Whats does that mean Hev! I've never felt that before! Really glad you had a nice time, i didn't do anything, feel a bit guilty now. Well ... only a little bit ... the champagne is still working i think, but i really enjoyed it.
  16. Day went really well! Lots of Champagne and R was relaxed even though we sat down to 18 for dinner. I'm a bit merry but we all had a really lovely day, no meltdowns and really enjoyed the whole day. God Bless!
  17. <'> <'> <'> <'> No, you are not on your own. We should have one of these eh!
  18. Where is every one! I'm beginning to feel a bit lonely
  19. The school actually rang me back at 4.30pm, after i had called 3 times. Just said that there had been a break down in communication from the staff, and they would send out a form to make a 'formal complaint' if i wanted to. No 'Sorry' for the upset they have caused us.
  20. I remember him. I liked the comedy he did with Elaine Stritch, but i can't remember what it was called.
