Oh Hev, i'm really sorry <'> <'> They really think by excluding kids that its a punishment don't they, it just encourages them to behave badly again.
  2. I can't really answer that one. My 16yr AS son doesen't really like alcohol, he some times has a sip of wine with a meal, but he never drinks even half of it. I did hear him anwer a friend on the phone at half-term though. His friend must have asked what he was upto that night. He said 'oh i might just pop down the pub for a few jar's' He's never been in a pub in his life except for a meal.

    Phoning school

Hi Clarkie My son goes to a Specialist AS school, but i visited quite a few before we found the right placement that suited him. Try the website: www.oassis.co.uk Under 'info sheets' under education there is a sheet called 'Independant Schools and What to Look for', Its quite good. You have to have an offer of a place from the school before you can 'Name' it on the statement. If they don't agree to fund the placement you will probably have to go to Tribunal. My son son didn't want to go residential at first but now he loves it. Good Luck!

  15. I really hope that it all goes well for your daughter and of course you as well!
  16. Hi I got a private diagnosis for my son dx AS/ADHD. Camhs would not give him any medication that was suggested by the Psychiatrist as they didn't agree that teenager's should have medication. We had one private prescription from the Psychiatrist and then the GP took over from there. We still have to see the Psych privately every 3 months and he has been great. I don't know what i would have done otherwise.
  17. A very sad story of another family just left alone to get on with life. You cry out for help and where does it get you! The poor woman!

    Anger...

Hi Bid <'> <'> I know exactly how you feel. I've been caring for my mum for the last 10 years with no support from my siblings. Now Christmas is nearly here and my brother for the first time ever has asked her there for the holiday and he's the 'Best thing since sliced bread'. The only time he visit's her is Mother's Day and her Birthday! Don't feel guilty, you are only human!
  20. My son was 16 last week and still gives me cuddles So many teenager's don't even want to talk to their Mum's in public let alone give them a cuddle. I think its great!

    AUGMENTIN

Thought this maybe of interest Author Of Autism Paper Linking Augmentin Use To Increased Incidence Of Autism Welcomes Overwhelming Response From Parents Whose Children Experienced Regressive Autism. The author of the seminal paper: Could one of the most widely prescribed antibiotics amoxicillin/clavulanate AUGMENTIN be a risk factor for autism? published in Medical Hypotheses January 2005 (64,312-315) has received thousands of emails, letters and phone calls from parents of children who experienced regressive autism following one or more dosages of Augmentin ( amoxicillin/clavulanate). New York, NY: The author of the seminal paper: Could one of the most widely prescribed antibiotics amoxicillin/clavulanate AUGMENTIN be a risk factor for autism? published in Medical Hypotheses January 2005 (64,312-315) has received thousands of emails, letters and phone calls from parents of children who experienced regressive autism following one or more dosages of Augmentin ( amoxicillin/clavulanate). Dr. Joan Fallon reports in an interview conducted recently that since the publication of her paper she has received over 2300 unsolicited emails, letters or phone calls from parents whose children they felt had experienced regressive autism as a result of taking the antibiotic augmentin ( amoxicillin/clavulanate). When the paper was published, I never dreamt that the level of response would be so great states Fallon. I thought for sure there was a linkage, and indeed the subject needs to be further examined, and research needs to be done in this area according to Fallon. In her paper, the author proposed a mechanism whereby children who received the antibiotic may develop autism as a result of the urea/ammonia toxicity in the gastrointestinal tract. She further links the introduction of augmentin in the early 1980?s for the use in children with otitis media, and the large numbers of children who have autism with protracted ear infections. It is imperative that further research be undertaken to determine if a subset of children are at risk for neurotoxiicty due to the use of clavulanic acid in pharmaceutical preparations the paper states in it?s conclusion. Looking into the potential multifactorial etiologies surrounding autism is an important next step in discovering a potential cure for autism, said Fallon For further information please contact Ricardo Felto of LFH Media at e-mail protected from spam bots Ricardo Felto LFhealth Media _ricardofelto@gmail.com_ (mailto:ricardofelto@gmail.com)
  23. Hi Going through this with R at the moment. Our FE college says that it put alot of provision in for AS students. I spoke to 3 of the tutor's who would be taking some of his subjects. 2 hadn't even heard of AS and the other one said 'That's no problem, is it!'. After attending a specialist provision i know that it would be the wrong choice for him. But we will have to see.
  24. Well done thats great news! We shouldn't have to fight like this, the strain on the parents just isn't fair.
