does he have a diagnosis??..................if its a large school they will have good sen provision , make an appt with the senco today, its advisable that your boy spend break and dinner within the special needs base (he,ll need packed lunch )....and that he leave each class a minute earlier to avoid noise and the crush on the corridoors etc...this will certainly lessen his anxiety, I would suggest also he have a key member of staff in the sen base to make contact with .

I would try and get any relevant referrals etc in the pipeline now with your new authority, get your current pead to refer you on to the new one requesting you be seen asap.The new school need to know your concerns etc..they can get on board an ed physch , are you carrying on with lang therapy when you move, don,t let them sign you off get a referral on to another one, try to hang on to them help you have now , and stress/insist that the pead understands how worried/concerned you are , best of luck

my son learnt to swim but hated it, he had problems with geting changed, foot bath(the manky water ) the noise and shouting in the pool , he has dyspraxia so struggled anyhow.It,s important they learn to swim but he has to feel comfortable, what about 1;1 teaching or classes aimed at those with disabilities, have you enquired at your local leisure centre.As far as the school goes have a meeting with senco and head, explain your worries and concerns, school can disapply from swimming , they did it with my son in yrs 11-13 with regards to pe.

Do I take it your son is in a specialised educational setting?........are you happy with the help he is getting educationally?..........at you next pead appt pursue with him the need for assessment, take notes/diary you have made regarding his behaviours etc.I,d lay it on heavily about how you feel regarding this.They maybe reluctant to assess as it seems he already has help etc educationally.However thats not to say he should,nt be assessed.A dx can definitely be given at 4 yrs, but they maybe reluctant to do this if they think it is more a language /communication iyswim.Stand firm though and push for an assessment, it with help everyone un derstand his needs etc.Alot of kids have more than one dx, my son has AS/AUTISM, Dyspraxia, dyslexia, sensory processing disorder,auditory processing disorder, and Damp is mentioned on one assessment.You may find your on a long journey getting this sorted, but as long as he is still being seen by the pead and he is at the lang unit then he is getting a level of help and assistance.Good luck suzex

When my son was doing stuff like this (when he was around the same age as your son)..I had to watch him like a hawk and the slightest hint of any upset I had to get in there and diffuse the situation , either by asking my other 2 to let him be and have quiet time , or by sending my son to his room with a reward for him when he was calmer and had chilled out etc.If the computer is something your kids argue over , it might be wise to lay down ground rules and have them pinned by the computer, limit time to 15 min or 30 min blocks each (done with a timer so they can see how much time they have used etc )..best of luck suze

Karen thats what we did............live in the middle of a field literally !.........really feel for you, hopefully things will die down a little now schools are going back and the nights starting to get darker.What is your son being accused of ??........I had experience of this when my son was at primary, a witch hunt if you like, it was not pleasant.

seriously , don,t be alarmed , weight can fluctuate dramatically and have nothing to do with actually gaining any weight .Go off how your clothes feel , and give yourself a massive pat on the back for following a healthy lifestyle that includes eating well and exercising.

pretty good......kids all getting older, eldest is now working and fulfilling his dreams working with tractors , hes alot happier now he can pursue his own interests independently.Best wishes to you and your family xx
