My 2 are 12 and 14 and they get �10 a fortnight plus a bit extra if they have helped out at home. If they are wanting a shopping spree/trip with friends etc. i will usually lend them some money and they pay me back a bit each time or I give them set chores to do to earn the extra money they need.

Mum's just phoned to say she's on her way home She has to take really strong antibiotics for 6 weeks apparently the doc said its the closest thing they've got to domestos! She has a new splint on that musn't come off at all and she might have to have a metal plate put in to keep her finger up Still at least she's coming home for now anyway.

I remember being out shopping with my daughter when she was quite small, she had a major meltdown because it was too bright for her and very busy. One old lady walked past, turned to me and said "I do feel sorry for parents like you with children like that" and proceded to tell my dd to grow up and behave like a good girl!

Thanks you two! The moral of the story is; You can deal with big wild animals, work in muck all day but always buy your tomatoes in a carton!! Seriously though I think she may have to stay in hospital for a while 'til they get it sorted out Just waiting for an update now.

Pleased you had a good weekend Hev. we have cats and dogs and my dd has her own cat called Fred! She is the only person that he listens out for and comes zooming into the house when he hears her voice. He makes a beeline for her bed at night when he comes in and has been known to hide under the duvet when we try and find him! Its great for her as she tells him everything thats going on and there is a real bond between them that there isn't with any of the other animals.

My Mum is really fit and active, running a farm and a riding stables. She's beaten cancer and is an all round 'Super Gran'! A few months ago she cut her finger on a tin of tomatoes and got a really nasty infection in it. She's been left with a wobbly finger end and has been going to the docs every 3 days to get the dressing changed on it and they put her finger in a splint to try and get the tendons to tighten up and support her finger as it just droops at the end and wobbles about. The docs sent her for an xray on it today as it wasn't getting any better and they have told her that the joint has been completely destroyed permanently and she has to go to hospital immediately to have it examined in case the infection spread and has affected any more of her finger. She might have to have the finger opened up and a drain put in to clear any remaining pus from it. so waiting to hear what happens next. Keep jumping every time the Phone rings in case its news from her and I have to go and see to the horses!

Between 10 and 10.30 and if I'm at work I get up about 7.15 - 7.30 if not it varies but not usually before 8.45 if I can manage it!!!

I got a new bike yesterday My other one is a mountain bike and this one's a town and trail bike, what a difference it makes. Did 13 miles this morning in just under an hour. Woop Woop! Will use the old one when I tootle out with the kids cos took the new one out with them last night and when I looked round they were nowhere to be seen! Turns out I'm too speedy!

Hope Herbie settles in well. I have an aviary with 20 adult budgies and 24 babies! Eldest babies had their first flight over the weekend. The baby canaries wont be much longer before they are weaned and flying too! I can see a large advert appearing in the paper before much longer!

Congratulations to you both! What super photos, your wife's dress was lovely and so were the bridesmaids. you looked really smart too. Heres to a very happy future together.
