What pet do you prefer ?

Recommended Posts

I am asking for a reason, I would like to know, what pets ASD people are attracted to. With me, it's cats, they provide a lot of pleasure, but the cat I see as a challenge to understand, as they are not as communicative as dogs. Dogs, they are easy, but cats besides being lovely, are a question that needs an answer.

We have 2 cats, and they are a great bundle of amusment and joy that have come into our lives. They amuse us with how silly they can be, but also when I'm feeling down one of the cats comes for a cuddle and cheers me up again >:D<<'> On the whole they don't need too much attention and as long as they get their food and a little love they are normally fine. Dogs take too much attention really.

Cats are my favourite pet. I am frightened of dogs, and cats are my special interest. I'm not really interested in any other kind of animal.

Cats defo, we did have a beautiful springer spaneil to help Js social skills, we had to rehome her because of Js interaction difficulties with her, it was also incredibly hard to train her because J would interfer and want to control her, we really studied having a dog for J and we thought we were doing the right thing, however after a year it was clear it wasnt going to work and she was adopted thankfully by a dog behavioural coach, so we were lucky, she is very happy now, we now have two cats and they are great, J is in residential specialist school now so they get more peace, I was worried incase the cats would shred the leather settee, pee in the corner of the rooms, and stink the place out, but to be honest they havent done any of that, they are clean and with the right equiptment such as scratch posts and mats they have left my sofa alone, the only distructive phase they have gone throw is they have ripped up a little of the carpet at the door, apart from that our cats bring a lot of comfort and company. there wonderful.

Do look into adopting a cat from a animal sancturay.

We have two cats. My son loves them talks to them for hours (what the cats make of that I don't know!), cuddles them... We like dogs but don't like the commitment they need. The cats are not very needy and they come and go as they please with a cat flap. Only drawback is that they keep bringing presents on my bed : mice and frogs... lovely!

Three cats and a tank full of tropical fish. One of my cats definitely communicates (particularly on Sundays when a roast dinner is served). She is so unbelievably patient and attentive to my son with severe language difficulties.

Joanna Lumley, ITV 1 Sunday - (not sure what time). The perfect presenter for the subject matter. She has such a smooth and silky sinewy voice - I feel sure she must have been a cat in a previous life. :)

That is the most wonderful description of Joanna Lumley I have ever heard! :)

I have actually just been told about this programme by the course tutor of my course in Wild Cats, because he is in it - he is a well known expert on cat behaviour called Roger Tabor. Apparently it's on Sunday 6th and 13th Sept on 7pm on ITV1.

She is very funny in AF.

Anyway it is Joanna Lumely doing the programme, saunders is in Absaloutly fabulous too so that might be were I was crossing the connection.

We have a cat and we love her to bits, we are thinking of getting another! She is patient and loving, when my ds2 wakes in the morning he brings her to my bed and lays down with her they have a special bond. She likes to be held like a baby by all the family and will touch your face gently with her paw. I will be watching this programme tonight sounds very interesting. Maria x

Our cat died last year, so now we just have a dog (Heidi) and two goldfish (July and Mary: my nephews named them after their two favorite teachers at nursery :D ).

a prefer a certain breed of dog and thats cavalier; it helped me alot to be honest we could communicate to each other how were feeling. i looked straight into the cavalier dog that i hard and i could see we could understand each other. the reason i prefer this breed is because there friendly and affectionate well the male ones are more loving.
