good news for a change

Recommended Posts

I am delighted to report some good news although things have been so dreadful, my gp has just deliberately messed up my referal to a specialist who had agreed to see me and assess me, he implied in referral letterI had already had assessment on nhs, when it was private and involved no gp input as they were all so unhelpful and caused me more distress than I was already in and implied that he provided it andI had been offered support. I was offered support like psychotherapy. I saw 5 gps 4 psychiatrists 4 psychologists 4 counsellors and told them all I thought some of my difficulties were related to aspergers and seeing my son get inappropriate harmful support from people who have no idea, that led him to have a breakdown, also contributed to my distress, but now I'm phobic of the medical profession

However my Mp decided to help, after my ex partner contacted him and has written to regional co ordinator who wrote a very detailed letter back which has been sent to my expartner specifiying what we need to do and if I get my assessment on nhs, he will get involved with any professional involved and provide training and understanding of asds, and ensure my son gets the support he needs. I feel so delighted at this, except I 've got to try a recover my assessment, and I don't know if I'm going to be able too.

Hi Florrie -

My first attempt using my new 'moderator super powers' and i thought I'd lost you this thread completely (PHEW!)...

Instead, I have moved it to the forum you wanted it in, and this post will bump it up to the top! Don't worry about your other thread with the same title, it should now hopefully sink from sight!!

Now - my response to the content of your post...

:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Yeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! great to hear things are going in the right direction for you now... Keep us posted, hopefully it'll just get better and better...

Oooh, Badster, you Clever-dick (f'nar, yak!!) ;)

As you can see on Florrie's original post, I just couldn't find it in Resources...because it was already zooming through cyber-space, propelled by Baddad's Uber-Powers!! :bat::bat:

Bid :hypno:

The question on all our lips is, was this really badders first attempt or is that why posts have gone missing?

Own up badders, you lost them didn't you?

well done - It does work!!

I often wondered about getting my MP involved - always had it as a back up if needed but wasnt sure how it could have helped,

Thanks for letting others know it works though - Maybe its the way forward.

Like to make my MP spend the afternoon with my son - soon be smypathetic!

I think your MP can help when you have followed the system but got no-where. I wrote to mine when I had already looked at 20+ schools suggested by the LEA. Then they suggested a school at the other end of the country, even though they did not know how they woudl get him there and back every other weekend. I had already found a suitable school 40 miles way, which the LEA refused to consider.

The MP wrote to the LEA asking why they were suggesting a school so far away, but refusing to consider the closer school. They replied, without really answering the question - so the MP wrote back, asking them to answer the question. They could not justify looking at the far away school and it was not mentioned again, and they sent T's papers to the closer school!
