Need Ideas. Totally Off Topic

Okay Ladies (and Gents)

This is totally off topic sorry.

Dear Partner has finally taken the hints and proposed.

So now I?m totally stuck for wedding ideas. This will be my second time and his third, he is not keen on a Church wedding and I?m not keen on a Registry office do, so I need some ideas.

Thank you all in advance.

Wow, Congratulations Caroline! :):clap::clap:

What time of year will you be getting married? Will it be small and intimate or do you want lots of people to share the day with you? I think you can get married pretty much anywhere nowadays as long as the venue has a marriage licence, and many hotels and country houses do.

Firstly congratulations :)

Second bit - If you fancy the fairy tale here is a few off the list I complied with a friend when she was looking for her perfect castle wedding. It was her second time round so she wanted the 'Happy ever after' venue.

 Brilliant News.

Chose what ever feels right for you. That's what Terry and I did when we finally decided to tie the knot two years ago. Matthew was our Page Boy and carried the rings for us on a special cushion that he chose himself. He even wore a shirt and tie his choice. He looked beautiful :tearful: My eldest and Terry's eldest were our witnesses and my middle son and his mate acted as groomsmen/bouncers. They looked like the Two Rons  We chose the longest day - because everyday is long in our house - and we thought that we would make the day last as long as possible.

Keep us up to date with your news it's nice to read a really good news thread.

Carole

PS Oh blow I forgot to sign in as me

Congratulations, great news, you must be so happy :clap:

Not too sure about ideas, do you have a special place where you could have an intimate ceremony? I had a church wedding when I got married over 9 years ago, so wouldn't really know where to start now.

Good luck, please keep us updated.

Bit expensive but I saw a webcast of two friends getting married in Las Vegas by an Elvis impersonator  Sounds really tacky I know but it was really good fun and I was sobbing by the end of it, they were so happy and the unconventional part of it really suited them :D

There's always Greta Green of course! I think Glastonbury festival has had weddings too if you like festivals, I'd love it personally but it's all a matter of taste :)

I got married in a register office. It was really nice, except that the registrar was really ugly and seems to have turned up in all of the photos. You can have a civil wedding in all kinds of places, although it can be expensive (although they seem to charge extra for the wedding room at a register office now - as if it were a separate location, often only the registrar's office is considered the register office, and you can only get 2 guests in there).

We only had very close family at the actual wedding - parents, grandparents and siblings. Then we had a big party in the evening for all our family and friends.

Congratulations!!! Whatever you do, I hope you have a really great day.
