I have to agree with elaine 1. I have worked with children for over twenty years and no matter how off/stressed/low I felt I have never shouted or been abusive to a child. I am not a saint, I have friends who share my view of repect and consideration towards young people. However I must confess that years ago I went into work after my 21st boozy bash I told all the children if they whispered they could have extra juice and biscuits !! Maybe you could write Her a note, you have her name, just say how you felt and that may be enough to sort out the problem.? redberry

Dont know if its just because Im feeling v. sensitive today but this made me cry. There seems to be a lot of nastiness around and I just don't think its acceptable. Too many vunerable children/grown ups at the mercy of barbed negative attitudes. I feel really sad. redberry

Lousy pay..maybe a lousy job. But they (dinner ladies) are working with CHILDREN. My son was terrified of a dinner lady in his last school. She was a bully and even the Head was afraid of her. I know there are lovely dinner ladies around I lived and worked in Greece for some time -way back in the day- it seemed the attitude towards children was SO very different. They were handled with care and genuine pleasure. In the schools I was involved in for every strict teacher there were three lovely dinner ladies ready to nurture and care. <'> redberry

S had final assesment and dx a couple of weeks ago. Husband and I and S all in together with Psych, speech and launguage therapist and two guys training. Everyone was fantastic. S really enjoyed the whole experience. Husb and I answered open questions, S chatted or drew, sometimes chatting to either one. They were obviously taking notes the whole time. The whole two hours were very relaxed and easy. Handling the dx.....not so hunky dory Anyway...hope its all as relaxed for you. Let us know <'> redberry
