  4. i blubbed too out of relive the school had made me out to be a crazy mother (ok there still doing it) but someone actually telling me what i knew was wrong was soooooooooooooo good i was stressed before hand that the school would try and get in on it mainly but it went so smoothly it was just the waiting. Iwas told in the jan he had asd and the official report didnt come out till the april and i couldnt use his asd against the school in that time arghhhh <'> to you hun we all know how you feel
  5. thanks lya still no phone call grrrrrr i bet when he comes out tonight he has been told off for making a "scene"
  6. J had a meltdown this morning as he is serving on the snack trolley today at break. When i got him to explain he says he does this every thursday. But the girl he is doing it with has a go at him for eating his snack first and she has to do the trolley. Now for the passed 6 years this is how it has worked so its part of his routine, he has only been doing the trolley since he has gone back. Right so i go around to his playground to see if i can see his teacher nope!! so i go to the front doors strange man on door says no parents allowed in before school ( i do know this but i see this as some sort of urgency) so all the way home about a 10 min walk i ring the school on my mobile no answer get home ring put kettle on ring put washing on ring do washing up ring secertary (bat ) answers at last so i ask to speak to his teacher BEFORE break. I get the "sorry he is taking lessons speech" well i no that bat but 2 minutes please. it is quite urgent as im not putting up with the meltdown tonight "what is the problem can i help" me- its about snack time and j being on the trolley her- sarcastic "whats your problem with that?" me - i explain that this girl is having a go at him and that my problem isnt the fact that he does it its the way this girl is speaking to him. her- and your problem is me- its not MY problem its his he has asd and shes knocking his routine. Teacher is also senco and he knows all about this and im fed up with sorting all his (sencos) wrong doings Can you please get him to ring me AT break. her- OK bye right it is now 5 mins till lunch and have i had a phone have i frig arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh am i being out of order for me to ask for a phone call Btw noone has took up any of the course that the lea and cyps have offered on asd and they have only ever had one other child at the school diagnosed with it and he was only there one term. all i am trying to do is help them see what sparks meltdown. But because he holds them till he gets home they dont see them

    statement

finally the school are putting him in for one but to little to late. he goes up next september and his transistion forms have to be in the 2nd nov and a statement could take 6 months to process. Local asd unit isn't suitable for him and the other one is for more challenging behavior and they said he has more complex needs also that they couldn't guarantee transport for him :wallbash:
  9. what a coincidence. j got sent home yesterday after swimming cause he had been sick on the bus me thinking that he had the bug we all had only gave him toast for tea lastnight. well he gets up this morning and asks for his coco pops ate them nothing back so off my boy to school . had a meeting this after with senco and ep and senco brings up that j is swallowing water on purpose thus making him sick yesterday and can i add the only time in the 6 month he has been going ?? for what purpose?? when i get home and ask him he says when im swimming it goes in my mouth turns out he didnt realize you could breathe through his nose so he had been gulping water instead of air bless him pmsl
  10. wow well done i need the next bit :bounce: even had tears in my eyes at one point (and thats not like me)
  11. our lea wont put kids with dyslexia straight on to a statement they have to do sa and sa + first.
  12. im coming ill wear this hat, ill be doing this out side the room but............... there will be none of this and plenty of these as our little do their worst mwahhhhhhhhh
  13. i agree with smiley. J has more programmes then lessons at the minute something i will have to discuss with the ep as he cant take his mind off one to do another if you get my meaning. But if it works for him..... goodluck <'>
  14. im trying to hold my patience in as its his transition year and i could really do with the school being on my side for once but i feel like doing this at senco and then this and see how he feels

    updated re TA

good luck <'> grrrrr at her for lieing.
  16. J goes swimming once a week with the school. Last week he came home upset and when i asked him why he was upset he said his Lsa had told the swimming teacher it was because of his asd that he wasnt able to stand straight in the water??? :unsure:ummmmm he has dyspraxia. Are these Lsas not told anything?? Ok to me and you me its funny but to a 10 year old lad thats stuggling this year it prompted loads of questions and tears. I try to keep his feet on the ground as such re his dx (not blaming them for the way he is cause hes just my special boy) and now she has thrown it all up in the air. Hane told senco about it but he doesnt believe j again

  19. i have 3 kids the eldest has asd but he has a different father to the others
  20. guess what................ after 3 years of pestering......................... all by himself................... he has put a request into ips for a consultation this is what it says (ive had it home to sign) problems with socializing/empathizing with others. J likes to lead others/dictate roll play and demand time off others. He becomes overly-obsessed with activities(clubs)during playtime-clubs which he has initiated himself. Information gathered and/or assessment undertaken to clarify concerns/issues Assessment - obs in situations/discussions with other members of staff.Discussions with parents/ed.psych at review meeting and during other assessment time. what actions have been taken to address concerns ? Circle time/pshe work = discussion of friendships / communication. Encouraging inclusive activities which allow opportunities for different children to lead at different times. What have been the outcome of these actions? J wants to dominate / quite restraint to the change in group structure. Excessive time demands on others. Over cajoling of children to join the groups. Activities being stretched out over long periods - weeks (UNREALISTIC) what do you hope to achieve as a result of ips Find ways of including peers in his play without putting excessive strain on them. Find ways of developing Js skills in working with others - playground/classroom, ensuring that there is more of a balance in decision making. I asked ips to an assessment 2 years ago over the very same thing but he boo hooed it and they dropped it. But j has only been in his class for 2 weeks and ive already got 3 appointments coming up that hes organized. Looks like hes realized what a strain on a lsa J is.

    homework

j is now in yr6 and in sencos class. He came home with maths (his poorest subject) on monday for it to be in yesterday well it was to find 20 things with a bar code -simple enough, write down the last 3 digits- ok we can cope. then..................... x 5 by 100, divided 5 by 10 and 100 and i can remember what the other on was. now to me and you this is about moving the decimal point but could i get him to get the hang of it and 30 mins later he was panicing. He stuggles with adding double figure numbers ie 10+12 so knew he was out of his depth . so i wrote a polite note on the bottom saying j really struggled with this. I am confusing the confused. Last night j comes out with a help sheet and its the tenths hundreds thousands sheet and the same homework. Did senco not get the hint that j cant cope with yr6 maths ive got a meeting with him and ed physc in october but i see me being up there before them
  22. j is the same 10 and although we give him a knife and fork he hardly uses them. He went school dinners once but they refused to have him cause he got so messy
  23. dh is not js biological dad although j knows no different, fil has always thought sun shines out of js posteria not saying he isnt asd but plays it down when we say hes been a pain and saying "hes a good boy not him". "your a good boy aint you j" j has never ever had a meltdown infront of them well today we went to his for a bbq and j had a massive meltdown over something that happened about an hour before and the man just sat there gobsmacked and then said ive never seen that before and i said oh yes we have 3 or 4 of them a day. He just procedded to sit there gobsmacked and thoughtful  good boy j well deserved clap for letting down the defensives infront of grandad im so proud
