  4. Hiya Just got back from a first birthday party for my niece. I'm feeling a bit down i suppose, R wasn't even there as he is at school at the moment. I just love the 'Good advice' that my family and friends want to share. 'What R needs is to live in a different area and mingle with like minded friends' 'All he needs is a father figure in his life'. 'If he had the right guidance, you wouldn't have had to send him to that school would you'. Then to top the lot, 'If you had given him a good slap, it wouldn't have come to this'. Come to what i ask? I have never asked them for advice or help of any description, so why now do they want to ]advise[/b] me about him now? Totally p****d off with the lot of them!

    Challenge

Hi Clarkie I had to go to Tribunal to get my son into the school. Armed with reports from the Ed Psych, Psychiatrist and O/T to prove than any other school in our county could not meet his needs. I would contact www.ipsea.org.uk for advice. Or talk to a soliciter that deals with SEN education which can be costly.

  17. Hi I remember feeling like that very, very well. I cried all of the time and felt i just couldn't cope any more. I went to my GP and he prescribed some anti-depressants for 6 months. I have to say they really helped me. I could deal with R's behaviour because i wasn't so anxious and depressed. It helped the whole situation. <'> <'> <'>

    Risperdal

Hi My son has been taking risperdal for the last 4 months. He is less anxious and aggressive and is able to access his education. Socially he is a different person and has a wonderful sense of humour. The only side effect was weight gain, but he has enrolled at a Gym and put himself on a healthy eating plan to combat this. I didn't really want him on any medication but the change in him is remarkable. It has made a wonderfull difference to our relationship as I don't feel that I am loosing the plot quite so much.
  21. Welcome MrsR You have come to the right place, the support here is amazing!
  22. Hi Kathryn It sounds like your talking about my son! The more stressed i got, the worse he would get. I just kept my cool in the end and just kept on praising him. I did take quite a while and i still have to check things because he does still forget, plus being back at school does help as well. Lots of <'> <'> <'>
