My friend's son had to go residential because there wasn't any other school that could meet his needs at secondary level.Although she felt all the emotions you're feeling at the suggestion,she reluctantly came to the conclusion that it was for the best. Her son has had a very happy first year and has flourished.She manages to visit him quite often.xx

The other thing to remember is that there is no margin for error with a water based activity.In general,all children need to try and follow the rules because of health and safety and the risk of drowning.xx

I haven't actually posted under that thread on the other forum because the person has such a closed mind. We'll carry on supporting you from here,PSA.xx

My 11 yo managed only a 76.8% attendance but he was at death's door at Christmas and it did take him months to get better.The school have never once been difficult about it,despite it being SATS year.xx

I also don't view school as a childminding service and am only too keen to see what they are learning and what progress they are making. I like the lack of rush in the holidays but my youngest is lost without the school structure.He wants structure and my others want to chill.This is what I find can cause problems at times.xx

Oh that's awful.Why would anyone want to make stuff up.Just living it day to day is bad enough and then when the LEA are deliberately obtuse,it just makes matters worse.Gggrrrrr.xx
