shortcake Report post Posted July 3, 2007 Hello all im a 29 year old mum to R who is 8 and L who is 6. R has ASD ADHD OCD and ticks, he is a nightmare at times and causes me to drink more than my fair share of white wine but hey I wouldnt be without him (or the wine lol) Reading through all the posts on here is so helpful and I have found myself either nearly in tears or laughing at some of the things our kids get up to (im sitting at work doing this so im sure i look like a crazy lady!) funny that they can bring us so much happiness yet sometimes so much pain - or am I the only one who feels like that?? mrs.ddh Report post Posted July 4, 2007 Welcome. Cant beat a good strong shiraz! Take Care Or a good cabernet, or merlot, or any other red/white-coloured necessary alcoholic substance.... I dont ordinarily drink during the week as I never know when my son is going to kick up about going to school, but by heck, the weekends would not be weekends without that bottle of wine... And wishingwell, where did you get your adorable emoticons? That one drinking the wine is great. That's me! Jumping in and draining the glass, yippee! Okay, now I am talking myself right into having a glass mid-week... ddh

mrs.ddh Report post Posted July 4, 2007 I know how that goes shortcake - my son can often reduce me to tears with his tantrums. But I havent tried to kill him with blue tack yet...lol Hang in there, hon, I am always late for everything - that is if I can even get my son out the door. ddh
wishingwell Report post Posted July 4, 2007 Better late than never! And i paid 's to be told that by some specialist somewhere along my journey. She said you will have problems getting him to appointments on time something will always happen at the last minute which will have to be sorted. When arranging appointments always advice them your son has autism and you will be keeping the appointment but you can not guarantee to be there at the agreed time but you will do your best, also he can not sit in waiting rooms for long periods of time without becoming distressed so he must be seen as soon as possible after arriving. He never made it to her appointment and I ended up going on my own. Things are a lot easier now that he is a little older or maybe I understand his ways better, and keep things as calm and simple as possible. mrs dhh found the emotions on the left hand side of add reply page, click 'Show All' wait to they show up on the screen if not check the bar at the bottom of the screen for 'Emotions' and click to open. Hope this works for U. Wishingwell
