  1. Awwwwww <'> <'> <'> My 3 yr old said to me Mammy, you have a big bum My response was Thankyou very much - not that she picks up on sarcasm and she calls my knickers big & No they are not bellywarmers Clare
  2. I think your GP needs a good slapping That's shocking what she said Clare
  3. Hi, I asked H's psychologist this very question ( where do adult's get referrreed to) and I forgot what they were called But your/her GP would know - there's a special place ( adult eqivalent of CDU) which deal's in adult dx. Maybe someone will know what it's called. Sorry i'm not more help Clare
  4. Hi, My son is going through a regressing phase at the moment too - I'm sure it is linked to school and the fact that he was being bullied on the school bus He comes home from school and demolition isnt the word for it, he tears the house apart The handflapping, noises he makes and aggression are all worse too. 8. Hi, H is the same - all the decorations - school play - changes in routine at school - he goes berserk and we have lots of sleepless nights. He's usually off poorly the day of his school play Why cant they cancel xmas for our kids Clare
  9. Just to echo what the others have said - even when you know or suspect your little one has ASD hearing it confirmed by a professional can still hit you badly - i cried for a week after H was dx. I think part of you wants the pead to prove you wrong. Take care of yourself and know that were all here for you <'> MM.
  10. I do that At the mo our SL is non existant - It's Been going downhill since H was born 5 yr ago - i think it's a combination of depression, stress and the meds i'm on ( oh and the pain i've had since H was born - the GP said it was pyschological ) It is hard, and it makes you feel giulty about not wanting it so it becomes a vicious circle - i'm just hoping it will come back eventually MM.
  11. Dont you go getting bigheaded or anything but i love reading your posts Clare
  12. I have 2 born in that time so i'm off to the website now - see the smoke coming off the mouse
  13. Thanks i thouhgt it wasn't a new song and i'm sure it's been on the TV programme Life On Mars - where the cop is in a coma and he's living in the 70's or am i just cracking up Clare
  14. Hi, Does anyone know what that song is off the Orange Advert where the man is singing with his guitar on the beach next to a liittle girl? It's bugging me - it sounds familiar but i cant place it Clare
  15. Thanks, I didn't think it affected children as old as 5 - I always thought it was a baby thing. H has never really even had a cough or any chest problems so it was very scary seeing him like that. Clare
  16. Hi, I had to get the emergency DR out 4.30am this morning as H woke up gasping for breath, coughing and wretching - I panicked, I have never seen him like that before, so i got the Dr out and he gave him a good check over all the time H was giggling his head off! He said it was probably croup and to put him in the bathroom with steam - due to H's toilet obsession i opted for cool air . It came out of the blue, He hasn't even had a bad cold! Does anyone know where croup comes from or what causes it? Surprisingly the oncall GP was really good with H and showed him what he was going to do and all his instruments and let him play with the stethascope and he was p[utting the stethascope on his own chest I know that sounds like nothing but he his like a big baby so things he does like that make me soooooo proud Clare
  17. Hope everything is going well Paula, it's brill news about that Lady. There are some lovely poeple out there. Stay strong! Were all thinking of you <'> Clare
  18. Awwww Lil-me you have 2 lovely kids there Clare
  19. Awwww how lovely <'> the only time H says mammy is when i leave the room he says " mammy gone to the toilet " - i must be constantly on the loo Clare
  20. Hi Butterflycake, my son 5 is mainly non-verbal - only the occasional " bye bye get down " and "want some juice" and echoalia. It is really hard as you dont know how they are feeling - you have to be a detective all of the time to try to figure out whats upset them, if they are unwell - whats hurting and why they are going berserk at 2 in the morning. What a life! But i wouldn't be without him Clare
  21. Have you pinched my son H is exactly the same only he will drink out of those sports bottle things ( like friut shoot bottles ) as well. Clare
  22. My mam noticed the asd in H from birth ( no eye contact until he was 9 months old ) and i noticed other little quirks, so he was definately asd from birth - and he didn't pop out and land in front of the TV He still wont watch Tv ( much to my despair at times ) Sometimes i get fed up at these so called researchers saying asd is caused by this or that when they hevent got a clue and just open their mouths and let anything dribble out Clare
  23. Awwwww that's lovely Why Gary? My son loves dolls houses - to death Clare
  24. Hi, Hayden 5, is the same only it was his 2nd xmas when we relised he couldn't handle xmas or birthdays, we have to introduce his toys/presents over a few weeks before hand and no wrapping ( less hassle for me ) and he is only interested in baby flashing light toys - i caught him watching a advert for a baby light up toy thingy the other day - how many flashy light things does he want? Why dont you sell the stuff he doesn't play with on e-bay - i had loads of unplayed with toys in the loft and i've got rid of most of them on e-bay - it's the ideal time to sell with xmas coming! Clare
