It's so nice to read a positive thread Well done all Keep it up

This sounds soooo familiar Z is always beating her little sister and has her round the throat regularly. She has come at us all at one point or another with a large kitchen knife. At present we have no help with her and just have to do our best to stop her from seriously hurting one of us. Last week she stamped on her sisters head ( Z is 12 and her sister is 5 ) Really scary but we got through it. Don't know what to suggest that might help, I just try to call Z's bluff and tell her to hurry up and get on with it, if she wants to stab me then do it now. Really scary but usually works. One day it might not work and she'll really do it but so far no major incidents. Could be that it makes it "real" rather than an attention thing

Hi I'm half-Yeah it's over and she's going back to school (Phew!) and half-oh god what's she gonna do this time??? But at least IF she does go to school I get a little me time time Good Luck all in getting them back into school. Hope it goes well for everyone

My dd(12) will get into the shower with lots of persuasion and the odd threat, attempts to wash her hair but needs lots of help but will not wash with soap as this isn't needed cos she's in the shower(?????) The only thing she can do alone in the bathroom is make loads of mess, you'd think an army had been through

Don't know really Just someone who listens then acts to help rather than listens, nods and nothing....... Oh and not having to fight for every little thing

We usaully play number plate game. You have to try to make a word out of a car number plate. ie YC66YPT, Z made CRYPT. Some words are a little obscure but can be very funny We also have the hand held games and a spare battery

Hi It's the same with girls too Z is aways angry, stroppy, gobby and wanting to be dead. Soz doesn't help much but hold on tight it's gonna be a bumpy ride

With Z it's horses. Horse books, horse encyclopedia's, horse riding, horses feet etc etc etc etc It's been like this since she was 5, she's now 12. A walking horse encyclopedia

Wonder if any ifyou can help Can this suddenly happen half way through a meal? It would explain Z's funny eating where she will start eating a meal saying how nice it is and then half way through she's had enough, it tastes digusting and she hates it.

DH's uncle died last week and we've got the funeral on Thurs. When Z heard he'd died she just kept asking"so whens Scoobys funeral then?" No emotion involved at all. (Oh Scooby was his nckname) She even asked my father-in-law when it was, this is scooby's brother. Just recently she's been kicking off at the slightest thing so am dreading going. It's a church service then burial. No one can move in our house at the mo' for fear of another flare up Any suggestions on what to do for the best. We have to attend as it's family and being family could make things even worse

Hi andreasea Been there done that. We were in the middle of the supermarket and Z went into complete meltdown. People were staring at her, giving me the "look" and I was at boilng point. Don't think it really helps much but it's good to see how peoples faces change completely when they're told something like that Zosmum

Hi JsMum So sorry to hear that. Maybe if you phone the school on the first day of term saying J won't be in as he is ill. If they wan to know the nature of the illness, tell them he is suffering from stress, anxiety and depression. If he is recorded on the school records as being off due to illnes I don't think that you will get into trouble with the EWO Better just check that it's ok or not from someone who maybe more in the know about thi Good Luck
