    Hi

You are welcome to attend the social groups in bath that I attend even before your diagnosis. Message me for details. There was a pub group in swindon as well a few years ago.

    Hello

Livelife i have private messaged you a contact number and email adress who i hope can help you.
  5. Yes I use cards from stickman communications which includes multiple disabilities autism is in there as well.
  6. Sounds like dissociation to me where you take yourself out of the situation to stop yourself being hurt.
  7. The post can stay because there's no details into how you are self harming. Do you agree with the bpd diagnosis? If you don't then you shouldn't have to do dbt. You could have post traumatic stress disorder caused by a traumatic past something that's confused with bpd. Hope things improve for you soon. Could you contact your local mind support group or nas branch for support?
  8. Write to pals to complain or contact your autism lead for your area.
  9. Welcome and I like your different brain wiring attitude
  10. Anytime and hope you find someone who can help.
  11. This is what i found on the NAS website but im unaware of how good they are; http://www.autism.org.uk/directory/search-results/pg=1~sid=188769~s=1/resources/15343.aspx Another option is telephone counselling.
  12. Can you go to relate or a counsellor to discuss your difficulties and try and find an understanding between you both?
  13. Avoiding gluten all forms of animal dairy, benzoate and changing to low msg and low aspartame I managed to clear my head and my weight improved as well. Has to be total abstinence as it's an addiction. Therapy probably hasn't worked because it wasn't aspergers friendly.
  14. You're very welcome if there's an association connected with your job they may allow you to contact them anonymously.
  15. AsdinfoWales.Co.uk is the website which could give you an idea of what you can do in the meantime eg do you need a diagnosis to be put in touch with other aspergers in your area. Also autismcymru which was funded by the Welsh government last time I looked. There's also an online conference awares where I found out about my degree course.
  16. I've told my support workers to ignore people who ask questions I can answer. Once I told someone who kept me waiting 2 hours "yes I do take sugar thank you very much" after she kept talking to my support workers. She left because she knew I was in the right. This is a visiting housing officer who insists on letting you know on the day what time your appointment i's which is completely incompatible with a reasonable adjustment of needing a support worker at your appointment. Going back to online bullying someone I told I was autistic insisted I was making it up then asked me if I had implements to kill myself with. The college we were at together allowed him to go unpunished. I did block him. An online stamp trader made up with me after having a problem with my autism then broke the terms and conditions of a trade I sent him and got nasty with me when my response wasn't as expected. Changed email adresses haven't contacted him since.
  17. Ajl I'm also a wheelchair user but they tend to stop the patronising once I tell them I've got a degree in autism ;-) other ideas could be to mention you can drive or you've passed exams at school (if true).
  18. I find omega 3 oils and strawberries help with concentration. Also avoiding gluten and dairy can in the long term ease concentration difficulties. 1 book I've found useful is 'time management for busy people' it's Americanis but the tips are aimed at people with little time. Only a few pounds on amazon :-) Do you have any friends who do a similar job to you who can help you focus? What about a job coach from access to work? Hope you find a solution to the nothing done frustration soon Ally
  19. Can the person who discovered when you're likely to be seen find out what the cause of the delay is and support you in the meantime with the in limbo anxiety?
  20. Great news about your diagnosis day. Hope you can find someone to go with you who knew you as a child for support.
  21. Having an extreme view of ones own privacy can be an aspergers thing but it could be something else. Avoiding small talk and avoiding questions are both things i struggle with due to my autism.
  22. This board seems to be causing you nothing but stress, this forum may be quieter but at least it's mentally safer for you.
  23. Well said Ajl Better to ask your questions here we have an off topic section on the forums.
  24. Depends what area of the north west you live in regarding services the nas.org.UK would have a list of services avaliable in your area. Liverpool has some services as does Manchester but I'm unsure about other areas. Also try googling "your county + autism" to see what's avaliable in your area. The diagnostians could be telling you there's no services because there's a long waiting g list or they aren't aware of what's avaliable.
  25. Difficulty with social communication can include how to start a conversation or maintain social contact. Some aspergers folk find socialising tiring and overloading so have to limit social contact with others even people they know. He could be hiding in his room at home. Also others emotions can cause difficulties for asperger folk. There is a book 'aspergers and alcohol' and a few books about social relationships but avoid maxine ashton as she says offensive things about aspergers folk.
