  1. people often live in B&B accommodation and tbh yours sounds luxurious compared to what my friend and her one year old daughter had to live like just over a year ago as they were homeless (escaping a violent relationship) I do understand how frustrating it must be for you
  2. My 11 yr old will start at an academy this sept and my 16 yr old went to a different academy 5 yrs ago, which she has just left, personally I prefer them as schools because they are strict about things like dress code. If my DD chooses to flout the rules she will take the punishment given to her. Both DD have chosen schools out of area as we all felt they offered a much more disciplined education (Ok so I saw that part and they saw the shiney parts) What is so wrong about respecting correct uniform? Whether NT or ASD surely something like that is just basic regard for rules?
  3. Justine, sorry about my awful typos last night haha, was a tad tired Anyways I have never had a BCG, I refused it at school as I was too scared and it has never affected my work choices etc. I know they are now only targetting specific areas for the BCG such as inner cities and ethnic groups (have no idea of your ethnicity), you may not need to prove or have that one
  4. Have just done a health ceck thingy for Ofsted and it cost me £30 to get it done by the GP, basically I completed most of it and the GP signed the back to say I was telling the truth about my hostory, left it with them for a couple of days Not sure about the immunisation checks, I am sure I just wrote on my form I was up to date with them all
  5. Ahhh sounds similar to what a friend of mine had at the centre I am going to with DD3, tht makes sense as they are so little. The Dragon's Den idea had crossed my mind as well!
  6. Whats an MDA? I have to take her to the child development and therapy centre to meet one of the team of paeds, but maybe it is the same sort of thing?
  7. fab news, am with you on the exhausted thing with DD3, her appointment is Aug 11th xx
  8. Surely this is also age related too? DD2 was terrible at 'expression' in her reading, yet she enjoys reading more so than her older sister who can do expression, but is terrible at comprehension! As an early avid reader myself I struggled with my girls not enjoying reading to the same level, but now DD2 is 11 her expression is there, it just needed time to develop. Just keep encouraging him to work out what might come next and how it might be said and he may just click with it xx
  9. Get back to doing those or some of those activities again! No reason why you can't still have a life as well as your wife, involve the kids (yes it is hard) in the stuff you love and it becomes family time as the kids will be sharing their time with the people they love the most - their parents! As for the rest of how you are feeling, I hope you can start coming to terms with an AS dx as there are positive things to come from that from what I have read as well
  10. Sorry to hear your news I have suffered 2 losses and although it does get easier with time I will never forget the experience of it all Bigs hugs fopr you both xx
  11. DP was sent for CBT and was assessed a few weeks back as no longer needing it due to the fact it took 8 months to get to the councelling it was just a case of going back n forth from the GP with a number of thoughts and ideas about his anxieties at the start, once AS was mentioned the CBT route was begun by the GP (although DP believed it was an AS assessment which he has since decided to stop progressing for a number of reasons)
  12. Sounds like there is more to it that either parent is letting on
  13. I would call the airline ahead and check the letter is sufficient for the above items (I am always doubtful unless I hear it for myself) and you can ask about playdoh at the same time, I guess that could come under the 'bomb making equipment' heading so give them a call the see, if it isn't allowed all the other things you are taking sounds like he will be kept very busy!
  14. awww sounds like she is really miserable out there in India and missing you all much more than she is letting on Am sure she will be abck to herself once she returns, try not to take it to heart
  15. I would tell him to do one! NOBODY puts baby in the corner! Big hugs <'>
  16. music being played in a public place such as a work place needs to have an entertainment licence to be played
  17. cTC will run until 31st August 2011 in your case, I have informed IR that DD1 will be returning to full time education in September and they have marked it on their records, so her part will still continue for another school year (unless she leaves college obviously) DD1 turned 16 last xmas and I have received payments for her all year I don't know about DLA stuf tho x
  18. An advert? I fast forward through them as I watch everything on Sky+
  19. well done Eli! L was 2 last week and is getting signs now, but will leave it with him for a lot longer!
  20. DD3 was my worst to train and I do not know if she is on the spectrum, but she does shows some traits. She is similar age to your son and is still in nappiesover night, having really got to grips with daytime training about 6-8 months ago, although she was in knockers from about 3yrs old she had lots and lots of accidents and even now she rushes to the toilet as she knows it is coming cos it starts coming out... DS is just 2 and is showin some signs of being ready to train and I will follow his lead, but I am in no rush with any of my kids to train them night or day. I can see DD3 being in night nappies for a fair while longer, but DD1 had enuresis until she was 13. Not sure I have helped much, but all the others except DD3 used the potty whereas DD3 refused and went straight to the toilet and we have a triple seat on there now which incorporates a toddler seat as well as an adult seat
  21. I think you have answered your own question here Big hugs, am having relationship probs here too and it's hard hard hard xx
  22. thanks Trekster, she does a lot of that already and also amuses them when I go to work (and gets paid) but she has few friends locally to her and seems to have welded her rear to the sofa the majority of the time she isn't helping out
  23. our summer playscheme is 9-1 mon to fri 4 weeks of the holidays, but yes some are shorter and some are full day care round here
  24. If the afterschool club is run similarly to the summer playscheme, the 1:1 help isn't always necessary and often the support staff will be 'grouped' in with the other staff, however the 1:1 support is then available when necessary for the participant if things get too much etc. I have just been told my 1:1 support worker has been moved to another site as I have no SN applied for a place at my centre
