Personal opinion - but i would go for a dx myself because i think that with a dx you might be entitled to more services other than what you would receive without a dx IUKWIM!!!

Yeah, i do feel the same Hev, keegan has just started going swimming on his own with all his mates and i worry myself sick!!! I do the phone thing too, he also gets so annoyed with me but i cant help it, he's 12 and it hard to let go during one of our CAMHS meetings one of keegans main issues was that i kept phoning him too much

Keegan was on MSN tonight at about 8.00 to one of his mates, we heard a very loud shriek from him and he started freaking out. He kept saying "she's off line look mom no one's on line" it's a ghost". Now, I am not really very good at computers but i know that you have to log into MSN before you can chat but on the screen it said that A had logged out and was no long on line but their name still appeared on the screen and was chatting to Keegan. The said I am a ghost and I am gonna haunt you, you are going to hell. He was so freaked out that he rang this mate and she was in the car on the way to their granmas so it was not them!!! He freaked out even more saying he was going to hell. I calmed him down and said it was some one playing a sick joke on him. He is now afraid to go up stairs on his own, wants me with him all the time. He is so jumpy - in the kitchen a while ago i was doing the dishes and had not closed the cupboard probably and all the tupperware tumbled out, he was so scared saying that someone was trying to contact him from the dead!!! I tried not to laugh coz this was my fault for not putting the stuff away correctly but he is so frightened. he can not tell that its a sick joke he does not know the difference from a windup to something real. I hope i dont have this all holidays what a lovely start to the holidays - wait until i find the kid that did this its just not on!!!

Yeah, there must be certain resorts that do cater for just special needs children.... Its ok at least my dd will fulfill her dream

Hi all, I know its way in advance .... but!!! we are planning to go abroad in March next year the main reason i chose this holiday is for my kids to be able to swim with dolphins. My dd is besotted with dolphins and this means so much to her- its our way of spoiling her and because she does take a back seat alot. Keegan is not really too interested in swimming with the dolphins he would rather watch but i emailed the place where they have the interaction with dolphins and they have written the following back to me:- The following people can not, for safety reasons, participate in the interactive program: pregnant women, physical or psychological impaired people, people with autism or autistic-like behaviours, people with strong physical limitations (example: heart condition), people with skin disorders, people under the influence of drugs or alcohol, people with hydrophobia, people with any other condition which may compromise the participant or the dolphins well-being. I totally understand health and safety issue but i thought that it was very therapeutic for kids with specials needs to swim with dolphins how can they say no to "ADS KIDS" - i think it stinks!!!!! Good job he is not too bothered but imagine if he wanted to swim with them how would i tell him he cant because he has autism???? Has anybody else had this problem before!!!!

I catch a snipet of him on Richard and Judy but bought the book yesterday and i am already glued to it!!!

What a time we are having at the moment, I feel useless as a parent..... Keegan has be signed off in total now 3weeks from school but yesterday he decided that he wanted to go to school only for a few hours and when he felt stressed they would ring me. He managed to stay at school until 1.30 not bad going but got home and was very stressed. My paed phoned me in the week and said that he heard from the OT team that Keegan had been signed off school and he was very concerned because at our last app he was spot on with everything, but he asked if he was being bullied??? You know this never even crossed my mind- why the hell not i dont know, keegan just said school was stressful and he could not cope with the noise i assumed it was sensory issues. I asked him last night if he was being bullied and after a very long conversation - meltdown inbetween and many tears he said that he was on the receiving end of alot of P- taking, kids saying he was fat ( he's a big boy but chubby not fat) and one girl calling him GAY!! Now a while ago i posted that he got into trouble for calling a kid gay but he said this is not a one off its constant and he cant deal with it, she also pushes him. Now it might just be his perception of things we never know but i have to have a word with the school because he will never go back to school at this rate..... I am hoping the consultant will be able to help us out because his behaviour is so eractic - he is like a jekyl and hyde!!!! His meltdowns are more frequent and longer and longer Help!!!! what more can i do????
