  1. Stella how awful for you all. Not that I am sticking up for AJ, but he sounds so desparate, are the police unable to get to the bottom of his desparation to get money, do you think someone is after him. As for SS, God you must feel so let down. I wish I knew what to do or say to help you, I can not beigin to imagin what you are going through, but am thinking of you and am here if you ever want to call me. Clare x x x
  2. Mel, I too would be vey upset and unhappy about this, I would have expected the school to have discussed it with me first and then planned it in full with my child and then taken steps to build it up, perhaps say a member of staff waiting at each end of the underpath. Our children can really lack confidence and incidents like this can be really damaging. I am so cross and upset for both of you. I too also remember all the work you have doen with Jay regarding his indepence and he was doing so well, but that was because it was planned and carefully built up. Don't be hard on yourself, be hard on the school and have a letter of complaint prepared to go in first thing Monday morning. <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> Clare x x x
  3. Shaz, Sounds as if you are doing a dam brilliant job in the face of everything else and with little if any support. Look like the kids are doing well and suited to their Home Education, you must be a very strong and focused lady to keep all that going after your lives were turned upside down. Its great to see you back here and I hope you get time to find support here again and communication with people who care and undersratnd. Take care Clare x x x
  4. Thank you again everyone for your lovely posts. Feeling really rather shattered today and letting it all sink in. Been expecting a meltdown but not happened yet, I am so proud of my young man. Clare x x x
  5. Kathryn, What a lovely picture, he does look as if he is not sure whether he should be there or not, or maybe that was the sight of the camera Clare x x x
  6. Seems such a shame that you have to go along the private route. Its not good enough that you have had to wait almost 6 months for their report, how an earth are people like the school supposed to give support and help with the proposed " Learning Difficulties". Think I would push for this report to see what it actually says, before spending money on a private dx, the report might highlight important issues that may have been missed. Good luck with what ever you decide to do. Clare x x x x

  11. They said "YES" they would love to take our son and have offered him a place pending the LA agreement. Hopefully this won't be a problem as they eventually agreed to fund the assessment and there are no other schools left in the area suitable. Its such a relief and we are all so happy, I think I am more happy with the fact that Connor has said he like to go there full time, we have been overwhelmed by his achievement of attending the 2 day assessment as he has hardly been out the house for the past year. Just wanted to share this wonderful news with you all. Thank you as ever for your brilliant support, I don't think we would have got this far without the support and encouragement not to mention the fantastic advice, information and guidance I have found on this forum. <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'>

  13. Day one over.....generally it went very well and there were just one or two little hiccups. Totally exhausted last night, so could not face posting. This morning Connor went off well, I can not believe how well all this going, is it the rise before a fall, I hope no. We find out this afternoon, how the past 2 days went and find out whether a placement will be offered. Will up date later. Clare x x x x
  14. Thanks Guys, after my positive post above, the anxiety for me has set in and I feel sick, the feel of the unknown I expect, my OH will be home any moment then we will be to collect Connor and I do so want him to have had a good day. Have been wandering about aimlessly for the past few hours, boy I am I goona be glad when this stage is over. Clare x x x

    assessment

Way hey ! Maybe us "Surrey Girls" are on a roll !!!!! Great news, think I would tend to think the Head of LA is more of a horse than the SENCO IYKWIM Look foward to catching up with you later......I gotta go for a lie down !!!!!! Clare x x x
  16. Thank you everyone for all your support and kindness. Connor was surprisingly calm this morning although he repeatly said he was scared. We had no tears and he managed to keep his rituals to a minimum. We had a sleepless and restless night and 6am this morning came far too soon. We got stuck in traffic and I phoned the school to say it looked like we would be a bit late, they were lovely and said not to worry that Beth his TA would be waiitng for him. We arrived just after 9 and as previously requested gave a quick hand over, bless him he looked like a rabbit caught in the head lights. So he's there now, I am not too worry as I know he is in very safe and capable hands, I am just more concerned that they won't take him. But one step at a time. We have to pick him up at 4 today then take him back for day 2 tomorrow, so fingers crossed it went well and that he find tomorrow easier. Thank you again everyone, I know I would not be this calm if I did not have you people to support me. Will probably post later to tell you how it went. Clare xx x x

    infections

Good idea, the antibiotics really should be working by now. Hope you get it sorted and you start to feel better real soon. <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> Clare x x x
  18. Enid, I am so sorry to hear this, but can empathise as our DS has threatened this on many occassions usually when he feels totally out of control of the things around him and unable to explain what or why. I hope you manage to get to the bottom of this, its is so very worrying and scarey for you all. <'> <'> <'> Clare x x x

    1st meeting

Good luck for next Monday tjw, yes it is very different process for different areas, though not sure why, maybe it should be standard ! Like kazzen says, write down everything and anything you can think of, but don't worry about it too much there is usually plently of time to add stuff in the future as the process goes ahead, in the end you get fed up repeating yourself, so it might be worth typing up a history that you can refer to time and time again.
