  1. Hi My son used to be like that. He said none of him friends would come round because i was so horrid. He hated me for about 2 years. When he was 15 it all changed, don't know why! At that time we would argue and he would try and push the bounderies all of the time. It does get better. Big <'> <'> <'> <'> for you, try and take each day at a time, i know its hard.
  2. Very bad week R is in residential school and is suffering really bad depression and anxiety. One of the pupils was verbally abusive so R hit him. Wrong i know, but the school didn't suspend him but sent him home for a few days because he is very low. They said he could return tomorrow for the end of term Christmas celebrations. I am very angry they phoned me tonight and said they don't want him to return until after Christmas now! They should have told this to R last night before he came home. He is in such a state now ... cried for 3 hours ... banging his head and major meltdown. I am so worried about his mental health and now they have done this to him. I know what he did was wrong but now he is just staring into space and rocking, waiting for the bl**dy school to ring him back ... which they haven't ... this is just horrible.
  3. Congrats Have one for me!
  4. Camhs won't see any child that come from out of the county . Its a nightmare of a system
  5. Hi Gloria The school are being very good, i really can't complain about thier support at all. R is happy there, but its a fear of those he love's being dead and leaving him all alone. I just don't see how 'nobody' on the NHS can support him through this unless i pay privately and i just don't have the fund's to do that!
  6. My son R is at a residential school in Somerset. He is suffering from really bad depression. Crying all of the time, nightmares about me passing away, panic attacks and he wants to kill himself. Camhs in Somerset won't see him. The GP attached to the school referred him to our local service and we had our appointment today. Basically they agree that he should have medication, but they want to see him twice a week, which is impossible being in a residential school in Somerset. They also say that he needs to be re-assessed because they do not agree with his dx. I am so 'P****d o**' with the whole system, i just don't know what to do anymore!

Welcome to all of the newbies!
  8. I suffered depression and IBS, before R's dx and during statementing process and the tribunal's (3 of them), to get him into the AS school he attends now. I'm not on the anti-depressants any more but have lots of really 'down' days when things get rough! Its all of the worrying about him, but what can you do! Lot's of <'> <'> <'> <'>
  9. I live in Croydon and the provision is Cr**p. There is nothing post 11 after that its inclusion into mainstream!
  10. I have been a member of the Nas for two years now. The welcome pack is good and you also get the quarterley magazine which is worth a read. You also get all of the update's on course's that they run at a discounted price for members. Haven't been on any as yet though, they are normally out of my area and i live in greater London. They also do a Liability Insurance for children on the spectrum, which i think is a very good idea.

<'> <'> <'> <'> Don't know what to say ..... been there myself and it stopped once he was back in school. Now his meltdowns aren't anything like before but he is taking Risperdal which has really helped. I didn't find social services any help either!

    Well done, you deserve it!
  17. My bank account was hacked into about 6 weeks ago. I sent details to a company to start a Direct Debit and it didn't arrive. My account is still frozen and all of the money in it. I know this for my benifit but financially its been awful. I have had to open a new account, change all of my DD's over, incurred lots of charges even though it wasn't my fault. Crazy, because a shred every thing that a throw out. Last week my new credit card arrived and with it my new pin number at the same time. If that's not temptation, especially as our postman leaves the mail hanging out of the letter box!
  18. Thank you for all of your support I lent my Aunt a book by Tony Attwood on Asperger Syndrome, i thought she might understand a bit more after reading it. Apparently is was boring because it was repetative and R will grow out of the problem anyway! I rest my case!
  19. I must say it is a bit addictive isn't it! My son says i'm alway hogging the computer and he can never get near it.
