stressedmumto2 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 For some of you who may remember I put a post a couple of weeks ago about loosing my tribunal. I just wanted to update you all on what is currently happening. Whilst I was ready to take it all sitting down my ed phsyc was very angry with the result and that the panel chose to ignore both my independant reports as his dx has not come from a team. This has left everyone involved in the case shocked and bending over backwards to offer assistance. The ed physc kindly took it on getting a barrister to check over the decision for a point in law, which the solicitor told me would cost a �1,000 I was struggling to think how I could afford this but it's been taken care of by the wonderfull ed physcologist, he has done me the biggest favour ever, apparently the barrister looked it through and was shocked at how the panel came to their decision and apparently we have a case to take it to the high court and hopefully get it quashedand then back to tribunal. I am feeling quite angry with the solicitor as she said there was nothing more that could be done, luckily with the ed physc and speech and language directing her that it was wrong she has done the appeal to the tribunal but I have decided at this stage to change solicitor. I am now with a new firm and they have been really good and much more supportive. I was at a parent support group last night and spoke to another lady there who had many difficulties like I have had with the same solicitor. I feel I should do something about this but don' know what. I am still in debt with them but feel they don't deserve it, I will pay them but I may make them wait for the money. The school my son should be atteneding have not even been in touch with a start date for him, not that he is going to go there for the mean time anyway. I will keep you all informed of what will happen, but for the moment it looks like there may be some light, the biggest difficulty I have is looking for a more suitable school for my son that can take AS/PDA ADHD and Dyslexia. JsMum Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Great news and I am sooo excited reading throw the post, I felt so disapointed for you when you lost and with everything in support couldnt believe it had been refused, lets hope that this new direction with the barrasiter and high court can see that your son needs a spersific specialised education programme. there is a book out that lists all the specail schools in amazon uk have it in stock or local libraries will have it. I have been thinking about you throw out the holidays and just hope that it can go to high court now because its very clear that your son needs to be a spercific special school. It shouldn't have to come to this, though, should it. Re schools: you may find this guide helpful - I did. (Second book on page - scroll down). Good things will start to happen, just you keep positive about that. Keep all those reports and notes in the diary handy, also go and get letters from anyone else that knows your son well and has worked with him in therapy and ask them to write letters in support of this. I should know by the end of the month if my appeal to high court was sucessful, if we won then we have to go back to tribunal again. Overall I think it went pretty well on the day.
