Kris Report post Posted October 27, 2005 All, Following recent issues with the forum being down, we have been looking at the causes of this. We have discovered 2 issues that have contributed to this:- 1. Drop in service levels from our ISP 2. Corruption of the databases that hold the forum information With regards to the first problem, there is little we can do without incurring considerable cost to move the forum to a new ISP. Our ISP is one of the cheapest we can find and in all honesty the uptime of the forum is still very good compared to most other ISP's. With regards to the second problem, this is an inherent issue when using SQL databases to store information and something we need to keep a close eye on. The problem is easily fixed when it occurs however I am away on business quite a lot and so for this reason Elefan and myself have employed a 'Tech Support Bloke' to assist. Lufty has been granted admin rights to be able to go and repair the databases when they become corrupt. Please join us in welcoming Lufty to the forum (I'm sure he will post his own introduction) and thank him for helping us out. I have known Kris and Elefan personally for many years and have a keen interest and real life experience of Aspergers & ASD. I am not sure the term "employed" is technically correct however rest assured I will do everything I can to keep the forum up and running when Kris is unavailable.
