Guest hallyscomet Report post Posted May 5, 2006 (edited) Just breaking news in Australia Little Sophie Delezio in another accident this afternoon Prayers if you will for a little girl over here. She was involved in a shocking accident just over 3 years ago when a car ploughed into the preschool she was attending, causing her hospitalisation. In article attached, but sadly she was 18 months onto the road to recovery and attending a special school because of her physical disability, caused by this accident. Now another accident for this same little girl However, very sadly just on the news. This same little girl Sophie was in a stroller being pushed by her mother over a pedestrian crossing and has been hit by a car causing serious facial injuries just this afternoon at 4pm and the parents have asked for people to pray for her. She is in a critical condition. How this could possibly happen to such a beautiful little girl. Attached is the accident she only just recovered from she was in hospital for over a year http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/06/03/...l?from=storylhs http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/12/21/...l?from=storyrhs http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/04/03/...l?from=storyrhs The only area not injured was her face and they are saying she has severe facial injuries. Please say a prayer if you will, the more the better H. Edited May 5, 2006 by hallyscomet

smiley Report post Posted May 5, 2006 (edited) So pleased to hear she's on the mend - and that it's not life threatening. Rips up your heart from the inside doesn't it. As part of my training (i'm a childrens nurse) i did a three month stint in a local A&E. The people who work there deserve a medal - it's such a hard job - very rewarding - but, exhausting and heart-breaking too. DaisyProudfoot Report post Posted May 5, 2006 Poor little girl and poor parents having to go through this trauma all over again. Everytime I go past a railing or a lampost with flowers stuck on them it tears me up because I think what the relatives and friends had to go through. Pleased she's out of the woods but it still sounds like a long fight again. go to her and her family

Guest hallyscomet Report post Posted May 6, 2006 (edited) This article was written by our local paper as they followed her closely after the first tragic accident, she is one of our local girls on the Northern Beaches, its so sad as she spent last year at a special school learning to walk with her Prosthetic legs and only just this year they we celebrating her starting Kindergarten in mainstream school. http://www.manlydaily.com.au/common/story_...5E15721,00.html Its always been a bad section of road, the pedestrian crossing is also bad as the sun comes down in front of you if you are travelling west making it hard to see. Sophie this morning is still critical but stable, her dad gave an emotional plea for prayers and said she was still unconscious this afternoon at 4pm so this is helping them to get the pain management in place, but he said he just cant understand why this had to happen she has suffered a broken jaw, broken shoulder, broken leg, broken ribs punctured lung and bleeding from her lung and having trouble breathing luckily her injuries dont require surgery, but this little darling is going to have to recover from this ordeal. Let all keep praying for Sophie and her parents Carolyn & Ron and Sophie's older brother Heres a lovely story when Sophie & Molly reunited, I thought you might like to read. http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/sophie...1191886876.html Edited May 6, 2006 by hallyscomet

Guest hallyscomet Report post Posted May 9, 2006 (edited) Shes still in an induced coma, but her dad proudly said today he believes she can hear him when he is talking to her and he is able to hold her hand. He told her he loved her and he saw a tear come from her eyes, so she is aware her mum and dad are there. What they both really want is to be able to give her a cuddle, but they know it will be a while before they can because of pain. Here is a weblink if you would like to post a prayer or wishes for Sophie http://www.wishesforsophie.com/ H. Edited May 9, 2006 by hallyscomet
