phasmid Report post Posted June 5, 2006 Oh no!! Auriel has got a scaphoid fracture of his wrist and will be in plaster for the next 8 weeks. And he's got 2 GCSEs tomorrow Bid In certain circumstances a child can have a scribe for examinations (ASD or not). The school should know the routine for this. Contact them early if they don't already know and see what they can get sorted for him. Hope it goes ok. Phas

asereht Report post Posted June 6, 2006 Oh dear ,hope he's feeling ok, my son starts exams tomorrow and because he has dyspraxia and AS he has a scribe,as others have said maybe Auriel could have one put in place as an emergency. I think I remember this happening to a boy in my other sons school a couple of years ago midway through the exams and they called in a scribe. Hope it all goes well. littlenemo Report post Posted June 6, 2006 My brother did his A-levels in hospital (glandular fever). They were very nice to him - they set him up in a private room, so he wouldn't be disturbed. They also left all his revision books on the bedside table! He did very well indeed! hope auriel does as well good luck nemo
bid Report post Posted June 6, 2006 Well, as he does all his exams straight onto a laptop, apparently he was still able to touch-type... AND the little toad is enjoying the kudos no end! (He even tried to get me to send money to show the extent of my sympathy ) So no lasting trauma, then!! Boho
lil_me Report post Posted June 6, 2006 Playing on it then, is that just part of being male as my partner and children are very good at it. Pleased to hear it hasn't effected his exams as that would have been awful.

Gilbo Report post Posted June 11, 2006 (edited) Get better soon. Me and Wilbo went to Alton Towers for my fast approaching birthday, you were missed. Of course if he was Northern like me there would be no need for a plaster cast. Edited June 11, 2006 by Gilbo
