  2. im sooo with you right now! t's new teachers attitude goes as follows; Current Teacher "t will need a designated peg for his coat" new teacher "WE DONT DO PEGS IN MY CLASS" she is totally not interested in t's transition into year 4 she is going to have a nightmare of a year with him and i can see she is going to be another teacher who is going to try and "normalise" him!

  6. I take tricky on holiday every year during term time. this is mainly because off peak there are less people in the holiday camp we go to. this way he is less stressed out about waiting for activities, an empty swimming pool first thing etc etc. It's at the point now when t's ht just says "before or after the summer hol?" and automatically sends me an authorisation form which she has not quibbled about, but then i think she may enjoy the peaceful school for a week.......
  7. feel for ya pal hope the weekend is a little easier, by the way i was laughing really hard at the cafe this morning dont think he will ever look at me again!

  11. Hi thanks for reading. Ill just walk thru some background info before i tell you whats bothering me.... My 8 year old aspie was given a statement two years ago. Pre statement he was (still can be) a violent emotionally aggressive and extremely distuptive child, but showed potential as he is a bright child. I was however At the school every week because of his behavior or some other issue, t received his statement in the july just in time to move up a class in the september. he was just 6 months behind in his basic education. He moved to the next class and settled beautifully, he calmed down they worked out strategies to cope with overload and the last two years have slipped by seemingly without hitch OHHHH blisss i heard myself say......until now. I went to t's statement review day before last (i couldn't make last years my dad went in my place) To say i'm upset is an understatement. The entire meeting was focussed on t's behaviour and how wonderful it is now! then looking closer at the info pack i was given states that t is 2 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS BEHIND WITH HIS EDUCATION! IN TWO YEARS AL HE HAS LEARNT IS HOW TO FLIPPIN BEHAVE! when i asked for maths to be added to his IEP i was simply told t wouldn't ever achieve much mathematically. I would love to hear your opinions, and any advice on where i stand with this please guys i need your help more than ever!

    It P***s me of

sorry to join in so late but paula i so know how you feel cept for my mother its her latest boyfrien and her sex life which was far more important then her kids, she let her 16 year old son sleep on the streets as to having him live with her would upset her then toyboy. I have no contact with her and i have peace in the knowledge that i AM a far more superior and loving parent then she ever was.
  18. hey shell thats just not fair! to actually suggest that she may be related to the dear ol devil is just a pure insult to him. ( yes ladies and gents shell's MIL aka MY mother is actualy evil) My MIL on the other hand is pure heaven a wonda woman!
  19. i have always wondered wether it could be a factor. My son was distressed and passed a poo during labour they tried assisted birth with ventouse which failed after two attempts and was finally born by assistance with forceps, the midwife warned me his head would be mishappen but what his head actually looked like totally freaked me out. He had to be intubated before he could breathe and i was warned he would probably be quite "angry" for a day or two because of the tauma to his head but nothing could be furthur from the truth, he was dozy and wouldnt feed very much. Also my brother (suspected ASD) was stuck in the birth canal.
  20. ive no advise to give other than good luck as i am pooping myself over this very same thing.

    SPLD anyone?

hey liz my son has spld. He has problems with sentence structure and understanding descriptive words that have no physical reality to them, Eg the concept of time. It is a long standing debate over asd with spld there are many out there that argue that the difficulties that spld actually cause can look like autisitic traits, i myself have long argued this with many a "proffesional" Tricky has problems with When, where, what, and is a VERY literal thinker, raining cats and dogs is a very good example, and his language difficulties are really obvious "what name is you?" "food want for me?" even now he still gets muddled up. Language learning is a very natural process and the human mind is incredible in being able to fill in the blanks and figure out the rudiments of language, but for tricky this is exceptionally difficult and has to learn it sentence by sentence.
  22. lotty i am really worried about your post. Fair enough you may have more energy (lucky you) but the long term health hazards are horrendous if not treated early enough, an over active thyoid or graves disease is not just to do with the thyroid it interferes with the pituitary gland in the brain, this is responsible for hormonal changes, it can cause you to go thru early menopause, and in some women give all the menopausal symptoms, but the most concerning is it makes the heart race, which CAN lead to heart problems and later down the line heart attacks. I am not saying it will happen but please be extremly careful and make an INFORMED choice by refusing the operation. Take care of yourself.
