  1. I just want to send you some of these <'> <'> <'> <'> .I don't know the answers but I guess life must be difficult for you at times.I do think for your own wellbeing lots of things need looking into in order to reach a conclusion of some kind that you probably need. I would just say it seems you and your dh need to have a long chat.easier said than done by the sound of it. I hope things get better for you soon and you get some kind of peace of mind. Best wishes

    AS or ASD

You can also have two people with Aspergers syndrome that will have the difficulties in the same core areas but their difficulties will be different within those areas. Hope this makes sense
  3. Strangegirl I think it is in manchester but it does say if you can't go you can still fill out the forms on line afterwards. It's for all adults with as diagnosed or not.
  4. Some good advice Shona and well put.
  5. <'> <'> <'> <'> Sending some of these.Hope you can find ways round things soon.
  6. Jonathon There is nothing wrong with being polite better than being rude.I think it was rather tactless of your friend to say what he did but perhaps he was having a bad day.Try not to take it to heart or let it play on your mind.Easier said than done. <'> <'> <'> Sometimes when people are saying they don't like someone it can mean that actually they don't understand them which is a different thing altogether
  7. Jason There are many people with a.s. who take longer to mature than so called n.t. people. However many many people on the spectrum go on to live completely normal and fullfilling lives. They have a job, house get married etc etc. Sometimes it just takes them a bit longet to get there but you will get there in the end no matter what you have or haven't got. Like has allready been said many people with a.s are fantastically talented particularly in computers. You will find your niche in life and you wont look back. All the best. <'> <'> <'> I don't post here very often these days although i come on to read the posts but i really felt for you.Hang in there.
  8. Ray I for one agree with you.I know what I saw with my own eyes.I was actuallt told by gt ormond street that my dd autistic encephalitus was caused by the measels part of the mmr vaccination but the link could not be proven!!!?????
  9. I too have black and white evidence that the mmr booster was responsible for causing my daughter's autistic encephalitus.
  10. I felt I had to do one last post to say a huge thank you for the support and understanding I have received on this forum over my decision to no longer post for the time being.I have been overwhelmed by the amount of p.m.'s I have received offering support and understanding. As I said in my original thread one of my reasons for coming on this forum was quite simply to help and support others.I still intend to pop by to read the posts and if anyone needs support, help or understanding please feel free to p.m. me.I still intend to use this facility. It was never my intention to come onto this forum for sympathy and attention as stated by my brother. I wanted to offer my support and sympathy to others who need it far more than me. I would like to wish all of you and your families the very best for the future.Keep on fighting. I can't thank all of you enough for the support you have shown me over the last few days and I hope I can return the favour in some small way. Best Wishes Love Ceeceexxx
  11. Hi All I originally joined this forum about fifteen months ago. This was for the following reasons. I was beginning to suspect that I had a.s. tendancies. I also suspected that both my father and brother have a.s. I felt I needed to find some answers to the distress it was causing me. The most important reason was to help parents in some small way with children on the spectrum. As most of you know my daughter was severely autistic for six months and i felt I wanted to give something back in some way because i was very lucky and she made a full recovery. Once I have recovered from the post traumatic stress that her illness has caused me i shall probably go and help at a local asd pre school group. This was something I wanted to do in the meantime share my knowledge and support others in a situation i was unfortunately slightly familiar with. However I feel that I am no longer able to do this as I don't feel it is fair to other people on this forum for my brother hidden Gem or Tania Glass or whatever else he is going to be and me to be on the same forum. Consequently I won't be posting on this forum any longer just reading the posts every now and again but i would like to wish you all well for the future and carry on fighting for your childrens rights. I am unsure of my brother's reasons for posting on a forum when he assures me he does not have a.s. despite ticking most boxes but Hidden Gem the stage is all yours.I hope you are also coming onto this forum to give others support and not just for yourself. Thanks to all for answering my many questions and for all your help and advice over the past fifteen months when i was practically at the end of my teather. Best wishes ceecee
  12. Bid I had guessed to. If tania glass or hidden gem or whomever he wants to call himself does not have a.s. and he does not have any children, whatever is he doing posting on an a.s. forum board. I think as i know my brother in real life I am able to say he might have. Wether he has a.s. or not is certainly a question that no one can answer for definate, least of all if you have never met him.Now I for one have no wish to contribute to this thread any longer as I feel it has run it's cours and gone off the topic in question. My brother told me he had informed the mods he was posting under two different names pretending he wanted help.As you did not know he was posting under two different names perhaps he did not.
  13. As i suspect myself of having a.s. tendancies then if i painted this negative picture I would paint quite a negative picture of myself. I can only go on my experience of a.s. and what I have seen.I am sure that many people with a.s. have a lot to offer, in fact I know they do but ubfortunately parts of a.s. can be very difficult and distressing as I am sure many people can relate to. Bid There ia another thread on rules which was not started by me but I do agree with much of what has been said.Don't know if you have read it. I am well aware that people with a.s. present differently. My brother and I have the same areas of difficulty but present differently within those areas.I definately do not think everyone witha.s. presents the same. There are many positive things about a.s. but often the negative overshadows the positive.
  14. I saw this and thought it was a ridiculous asumption to make.Sadly there are many ignorant people who will believe it.
  15. Apparently my a.s. traits are also worst when i am tired or stressed.
  16. All I can say is all the best to them. The mmr booster was definately responsible for causing my daughter's autistic encephalitus.Fortunately she recovered but we were told originally she would never recover and stay like that for life.

    Big potty

My n.t daughter used to have this potty that was basically a childs chair with the potty fitting into the middle. This was because she was too scared to sit on a little one.Trouble is i'm not sure where i bought it from now.

    Rules

This thread has made me laugh whilst feeling a little sad at the same time. I would say people with a.s. love rules that they themselve have decided on but not necessarily other peoples. Like opooh said they are always right never wrong and can't see anyone elses side of point of view in a disbute.
  19. Stressed out mum Hi yes i believe it is a feature of a.s that they have all these rules you are supposed to live up to and like you say it is completely different if they themselves break the rules. They don't seem to realise that they are breaking the self same rules.it is like one rule for them and another for everyone else. I have read an article on this somewhere. sue45 Hi I have i think a.s. tendancies and i tend to do this preempt a situation always thinking about the worst that can happen.i don't threaten to hit anyone though!!! My hubbie calls me mrs doom and gloom. People with as can be unbelievably negative and pessimistic
  20. I have experience with dsylexia and a.s.My dh and dd both have dsylexia. These are the differences i have noticed between the two as far as memory goes. A.S. It is usually short term memory that is affected only.Long term memory is usually excellent. Dsylexia. It is poor all round memory.E.g. my husband is completely unable to remember things that happened when we first met fifteen years ago Someone with a.s. is likely to remember every detail but would be unable to remeber all of a conversation they had with you last week. Hope this helps.
  21. Bullet <'> <'> <'> Just sending some of these.Be proud of who you are and how much you have achieved in life getting married having kids etc.If you feel you need a diagnosis then go with how you feel. We are all here for you on this site and many of us can identify with how you are feeling.Good luck Kepp us all informed.
  22. Tez Your right it is very self destructive .Yes I cn identify with the crime is a deliberate action senario.Trouble is the so called crime ofen is either not a crime at all or not intended as a deliberate thing but done for other purposes if this makes sense.I can so identify with all that has been said in this thread. To be honest I just think it is so sad.
  23. Thanks to all for your replys.Things make alot of sense to me now and also things that are happening in my life at the moment. That aspie memory has a lot to answer for Trouble is i am worn down with it.I kind of guessed a.s. was playing it's part. Thanks all
  24. Punky A lot to get your head round at the moment.Just make sure you get all you are entitled to. <'> <'>
