    Hello

Hi Amanda Glad you and your family are well.wondered where you had got to.Hopefully you'll pop back from time to time
  2. Strange girl <'> <'> <'> Some of these i guess life isn't always easy for you, keep going. As you know there is loads of support here for you Your right smacking achieves absolutely nothing
  3. Hi Ard Just wanted to say welcome to the forum.I am an adult with suspected as although i do not have a diagnosis.I am not sure about places in london for diagnosis but I do know there are lots of online tests you can take that have been posted on here.Theses tests are just a guidline though and are not designed to be used as a diagnosis. Best wishes
  4. Opal If you feel as a parent that something is wrong don't give up don't be fobbed off keep pursuing it.Peolple with asd are often full of anxiety. Have some of these <'> <'> <'>
  5. Paula I was smacked numerous times as a child and it did not cure my A.S. People are so ignorant sometimes.if only it were that simple a smack then all would be well. Aspergers and dsylexia etc are what as refered to in our house as the often hidden disabilities.Doesn't mean they are curable though
  6. I do this all the time Gordie Me thinks there are too many aspies on one thread
  7. Baddad I didn't mean to cause offence and I apologise if i accidentally did, but I do feel quite strongly that I do need to try my best and overcome what things I can and i fully appreciate it is not that easy for others.I know I have been there.i have had a child with severe autism who was not able to overcome anything. It is not as hidden gem rather unsmpathetically says about having your cake and eat it. I do hold myself responsible for my actions( whether i have A.S. or not) .something many so called normal people do not.
  8. IAmNotPrinceHamlet I would have done it too and i am an aspie.I haven't the patience to keep quiet and am very protective of my kids. 3 aspies in one house bet there's never a dull moment Welcome to the forum
  9. She is probably a rather sad individual with nothing better to think about and nothing in her life.
  10. I was on anti depressants when my daughter was diagnosed with autistic encephalitus and again within hours of giving birth to my son a year later on dr's advice I should have been on them throughout the pregnancy but there was no way i was going to take them whilst pregnant. Then again i also have a.s. and I believe people with A.s are prone to depression, just because of the way their mind works.saying that i have been fine for about three years now
  11. Mother eve I do that sometimes use a word i am not sure of the meaning of.I didn't know that was an aspie trait.Guess you learn something new every day. Yes often the eye contact is the first give away but not with me though my eye contact is fine, luckily Everyone else I missed the play because I worked today but hopefully they willr epeat it on a day when i dont work

Thanks I am an adult with suspected mild aspergers. One way I am not affected is my imagination.Though I do have problems imagining how people might be feeling Whilst i have problems with verbal communication and intepreting what people are saying to me.i don't seem to have the same problems expressing myself through writing. I think some people with aspergers are kind of compensated for want of a better word in that they can often write with each much better than they can communicate verbally.Don't know if anyone else has any thoughts on this. Once again thanks to all for reading my poetry. I have written many poems and these can be found on allpoetry.com under the author name of smirnoff Ice.Feel free to take a look if you wish.

    Introductions!!

Hi to all our new members and welcome
  19. Glad your son is well on the way to recovery.I had a seriously ill child in hospital and it is a frightening experience.sending you some of these <'> <'> <'> <'>
  20. Gordie Talking rubbish is a favourite past time of mine as well.As my husband often says 'why say one word when a hundred will do' and 'I have never known someone who can spend hours talking about nothing much at all.
  21. Tally I think the majority of people with A.S. are very computer minded and also look at it as a way of having friends by joining online forums etc.It is probably easier for them to do that than to try to form lots of relationships with people in real life.My hubbie's friend is exactly like this.People with a.s. are often really good on the computer and many are computer programmers etc. I have to say despite having A.S. i am rubbish on the computer. Can just about post
  22. I got 37!!!I think sometimes we can often be unaware of how we are and need someone to sit down with us and do the test and say well no that isn't what you are like and give examples.I guess as someone with a.s. we like to pretend we are different from who we are and don't have any areas of difficulty.Hope this makes sense.

If I could Wave a Magic Wand If I could wave a magic wand I'd make sure they felt like they truely belonged I'd make sure they'd never feel alone And have one friend call their own If I could wave a magic wand I'd make sure the whole world heard their song Every verse, every line, every word Their voice would have the right to be heard If I was a magician The whole world would be aware of their often lonely position.
  24. I have a.s. but struggled with maths at school and I have read this to be the case with lots of people with a.s. But then you get others who are brilliant at maths. I think your right it varies. You all have the same core symptoms to different degrees though.
  25. At the risk of starting a debate, One wonders how much the mmr vaccination is playing in the autism increase so much so it is now classifyed as an epidemic Just a thought.i am sure there are other factors as well, like more awareness of the condition.
