i took my son private as the doctors round here (oxfordshire) told me i would be waiting for at least 2 years to see anyone but i could attend parenting classes i had already done 4 diffrent courses, so we decided to go private the only place to do this was birmingham so for 6weeks we went up and saw a lovely DR who diagnosed steven with ASD/ADHD at last we thought we were getting somewhere only to be knocked down by the b******ds down here who will not take any notice of the dx we have as it is not from one of there named doctors So 4 years later i am still no further forward than i was then still waiting for someone to decided what help we need. So i would advise speeking to your GP and see if a private dx would be accepted

this is the most difficult thing aynone could do, my mother suffers with MS and we often talk about what will happen when she get to a certin stage. I have to say that mum wont's some help with when she dies but i don't know if i would be able to do it and live with the guilt but then again if they are her wishes i would feel bad about not helping.

i don't know if you will be able to help but a friend of mine and her husband have just split up and thay have a 10 year old with asd, he is finding the split hard as he wants to see both his mum and dad (he is living with mum) but when he has been to see his dad he comes out crying as his dad has benn talking about him and his mum and he is confused. both his parents think that for the time being supervised visitation might help, but don't know where to start looking. any help on this would be great as the poor child is getting so upset and so are both his parents

steven has just been invited to his first birthday party after a mum asked me some questions about what was wrong with him but this had taken a few years as they were at nursery together and the only reason that she asked me was that her son was talking about steven and had said that steven was ill

i wondered if any of you had any advice yesterday i let steven play outside the front of our house 15 mins later went out to call him in and there was no sign of him had people all over looking for him after 30 mins of looking a friend phoned to say she had found him was so relived didn't know weather to kiss him or kill him when i tried to talk to him about stranger danger he just replied it ok mummy i had my scooter no one can catch me then today had major paddy because i would not let him out any help would be much apprecated

i agree with you jonathan i am sooooooooo looking forward to messiah 4 thought the others were great also love charmed can't wait till the new series starts and sky plus is a bonus as i can tape them and watch them when the kids go to bed or out with there dad

we have something simular in abingdon and it has a play park and gardens you can look around aswell the kids love it the only problem is that it can get very busy

i think that this is an aspie thing as both my son and husband are very heavy hanned to the point when they tickle me i have bruises and as for making\ fixing things it's easier for me to do them as thay tend to break them. have lost count or the number of plates and cups that have been broken when being washed or put away

we tried letting steven play with diffrent foods to see what he did and after a few weeks he was licking his fingers and things slowley progressed from there he still refuses things but his diet is a bit healther

thats a good one when we went last year my steven was convinced that a dog was "la woof" and no one could change his mind. also has also made up his mind that if they eat snails that they must have real toads in holes i hope i never have to try it
