  1. Actually this year different counties are having holidays at different times, I know this cus I teach in Staffordshire and my DD's are all at school in Derbyshire and we have completely different Easter hols this year
  2. Nottingham could be a good spot, the tram system is quite good so transport is easy, not sure where we could meet though
  3. The extra controllers are quite expensive, I think around 40 and they are difficult to get as they are in short supply in the shops atm. we bought ours from fleabay, it was second hand but only 2 months old and came with 3 games, 2 controllers and the charging station, it was 250 which seemed like a bargain
  4. you can play one on anysize tv but you do need a bit of space in the room, we had one yesterday and we've found you tend to through yourself around a bit without even knowing it. I love the wii but it might be an idea to see if you can get to have a go on one before you buy it have you thought of a ps2, they are older but the advantage of that is that there are loads of cheap games around to go with it.
  5. Hope it sorts itself out soon, nothing worse than illness/pain at christmas <'>
  6. I'm so sorry for your loss and can not even begin to imagine the heartache it must bring, my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Summer xxx
  7. ok it comes with a usb connection so plug that into the MP3 and your computer turn on the mp3 palyer and your computer should then recognise it and install it, open up "my computer" and you should see it there as an external device. next find where your music is on your computer, lets say its in your music file for instance, open up that file and look for the tracks you want to put on the mp3. then right click over the file and go to "send to" you will then see a list of places you can send it to, identify the MP3 player and send to there, it will then transfer the music to the MP3 player ready for use.
  8. they look like a cross between a crow and a magpie, they obviously have a magpies kleptomaniacs tendencies
  9. This situation arouse for me today, I was presented with the paperwork to fill in for a childs LAC review. I was totally surprised by it, I knew he had a social worker but didn't know he was a LAC. It appears he occasionally goes to respite, amybe for 2 nights every three months or so, and for this reason is classed as LAC, seems all wrong to me
  10. just watched march of the penguins, that made me cry

  16. sounds interesting, wonder which angle they will be coming from.
  17. wow I'm sure lots of members will have a lot to say to this one but can I just remind members to be a little discreet about any professionals ot organisations as naming them would breach the forum rules. from my experience DD's school filled in CAMHS forms to say that she had no anxieties in school, despite the fact that they knew that when she was anxious she had stomach cramps and that she had been sent home several times because of these stomach cramps, yet still they didnt connect them. because of the lack of evidence from school the CAMHS worker more or less accused me of making it all up even though on the first appointment DD was so anxious she cried through the whole session, surly she could tell that wasnt normal for a 13 year old
  18. as they say "beauty is only a light switch away"
  19. Mumble, you'll obviously need someone to go with you, I could come pick you up and then we could test the theory about more mature women, obviously its a theory lots of us would be interested in and I'd be prepared to do the research, all for the sake of the forum of course
  20. just been to do my weekly chop and the supermarket looked a little understocked, after I paid at the checkout they gave me a 5 voucher, apparently they have problems with deliveries and its there way of compensating the customers. when I got to the car I realised I'd forgotten to get some carrots for the rabbits, went back in paid 34p for the carrots and got another 5 voucher :o So thats 10 just for doing my shopping as they say 'every little helps'
  21. could you speak to her consultant and ask if there is any possibility that you could change and just explain that he doesn't seem to understand her needs, surly if he's doesnt understand her needs then he would be causing her anxiety and wouldn't necessarily get a true picture of her vision. that cant be good and the consultant should have some empathy with that.
