I sympathise with all fellow sufferers of pcos. I have a beard that at a push father christmas would br proud of! a hairy naval period probs acne and all the rest of the delights thta come with it! i havent found all the things that work for me yet, so if anyone has any tips on how to deal with the facial hair that inexpensive and other than waxing (i suffer from psoriasis) i would be only to glad to try it.

We had an appointment with trickys consultant on monday, after being asked what concerns i have i told her that tricky being 2 1/2 years behind at school was my biggest concern, she then went on to say that she thought all the adequate support was in place and that she will be discharging tricky. to be quite honest i feel a little short changed! do i give up and have the attitude that just because my son has an asd that he will never achieve much acedemically? My son is bright but todays methods of teaching leave him confused, but why is the whole emphasis of asperger syndrome and my son put on behavior? sorry to rant but i feel that my son has been shut in a box and no proffesional is in the slightest bit interested in helping reach his full potential as a person. I don't think i should give up just because my son has a disability. GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

i have a really bad habit of using an expression when my son winds me up, and sat in the kitchen with my son, nephew (also as) and sister in law, I said "out of the fying pan and into the fire", my nephew says "but we are in the kitchen!" needless to say me and shell rolling around laughing!

hi my sons speech was severly delayed and didnt create sentences until he was four he just filled them with gobldegook. however when he did his speech was extremly pedantic. his manners impeccable but way too formal for a five yr old, he is actually known as the lil proffessor!

minerva, just read this and im sorry you are going thru so much. reading your story is almost like reading ny own, except the dad bit, but i too have a ###### mother, (who i dont have anything to do with) and for a long time everything in my life went bad, i had a best friend who i truly loved and believed was my plutonic soul mate till she kicked me in the teeth. Im not making comparisons hun just trying to say i understand. i know its hard to believe but it does get better. big hugs

well triki has had three days in his brand new class in a brand new building, with no help to prepare from the school, no regimented structure in the class (no dedicated coat pegs) we are bracing ourselves for the meltdown of the century and............................................HE IS BLOOMIN WELL LOVING IT!!!!! talk about shocked to the core! he isnt sitting with his best friend, the tables are different shapes and colours, the work they do is more independant and he is loving every minute of it! Shall still brace myself tho as this could also be a short lived absolution.

are thry aiming at the next olympics as a sylibus? tricky goes swimming once a week and i pay a volountary payment of �1 each session towards travel but i think that those fees are rather high

hiya sorry im late to join this topic but i felt compelled to. My brother (asd + adhd) was brought up "the old fashioned way" and was beaten to submission. he still at 28 will not express his own feeelings or emotions, he simply shuts down. I think it is hard enough for our children to sustain any healthy relationship, but for my bro it is impossible. I hope that it wont come to that with my son i am strict with basic values but i do give lee-way when i know it is because his is overstimulated. i believe in finding a good balance, but not punishing your child for something that fundamentally isnt his/her fault, discovering what is however is where the heartache begins...

i so feel for you. I had to recently do it all over again and i fretted every day till the decition arrived. The advice i would give is read it thru carefully befor eyou send it and make a copy, i spent the whole time worrying about info id forgotten to add.

d just walk into gp and have huge temper tantrum i mean kicking the floor and everything. Take LOADS of paper info with you use tricky as an example if you wish, i dont mind and just bombard them thats what i had to do, and ask to be referred to HEPAC they are the best. be prepared, download from the internet find textbooks the lot, you have to bully the gp's where we live, I broke down and said if i didnt get a refferal to them I wouldnt leave the surgery unless i did, but dont let them bully you into submission ask sarah for details about tricky she will tell you all you need to know. good luck

After 5 years of very loyal service my pc got broke and then...... it died. We had a funeral befitting of a supa dupa computer from NASA and after the 24 hour mandatory grieving process, then the three month saving up process i have got brand new flashy flashy pc with very wierd feeling keys! so sorry for not being around but just to let you know i am back!

My son is currently 2 years behind in all subjects at his school. He has 15 hours a week with an lsa. I feel its not good enough, i kept him in mainsteam to be with his peers, but i feel his is being failed. He has just 2 years left before secondary school, so in order to be ready acadenically he needs to do 4 years work in just 2. I dont expect miracles, but i think more effort should have been made this year, and i am looking at making steps to change his education now. Does anyone know of any legal position i could lean on? Im looking at a specialist asd unit nearby but obviously i need to gather as much ammunition as possible. When do things get reassessed? how bad do things have to be before action can be taken. Any information or experiences would be hugely gratefully received.
