  1. In my housework neglected ??? .............. Yes always, I should be at the shops now, should have changed the beds, washed up the breakfast things.... not to mention the floor needs hoovering and you can write your name in the dust etc etc etc.... But I am doing something much more important....sharing, listening and supporting, getting support and advice to/from all my lovely friends on this forum, so do I feel guilty Nah !!!! Clare x
  2. <'> Don't beat yourself up about it, we all do it and wonder whether we did the right thing. Like BFB says if my DS didn't go to school evrytime they said they felt poorly they'd never be there. Anyway I think I Motherly instinct cuts in and we now when they are not faking it, though I did get it wrong the other week when he chucked up in the car on the way to school !!!! Take care. Clare x
  3. <'> Yes this is very common, my DS is exactly the same, we have just adopted a system where he has a little note book to jot down his stress levels at the end of each lesson so we can try to establish if there are any points in the day/week that are perhaps causing him more stress (he scores his feelings 0 to 10 with 0 being felt OK - no worries and 10 being feel very anxious and can't cope) in this book he is also supposed to jot down his worries, so that the words come from him rather than from me reporting back to the teacher after I have a night/morning of his melt down. We have only being doing it a week so don't have much to feed back, he is happy to jot down the numbers for his stress levels but very relucant to put down his worries, saying he can't explain how he feels. My DS is the perfect pupil at school but his stress and anxiety is enormous at home, it takes over 3 hours to get him ready for school, I think they think I am neurotic as they can't really see what the problem is. Good luck. <'> <'> Clare x <'> <'>
  4. Oh no, my heart goes out to you all. I don't have any advice either at the moment but can see this could be a huge issue particularly to those who don't understand ASD. <'> <'> <'> <'> Clare x
  5. <'> <'> <'> Oh Mel , these school battles are so tiring and as you say they just don't seem to care or understand. Guess its up to us Mum's, Dad's, carers etc to keep the fight going, no one else with any power to change things seem to care. You put it all down in writing to them and copy as many people in as possible (School, TA, Head, LEA, SS your MP - someone will take notice) tell them how it s making you feel not to mention your poor boy and then the fall out you have to deal with. Print this thread off and give them that !!! oh sorry I am so angry that they have upset you so much and have made you feel so down. Please don't give up on this one, you've got all us lot behind you, you are no alone. I wish I knew what to do to help you more. <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> Clare x
  6. Oh Peppa I am so pleased you got a DX for your DD so quickly. However you are no doubt expereincing mixed emotions, my relief at my DS's Dx was mixed with sadness. As you say you can now get to know your DD on a new level, she certainly is a "superstar" and your a "supermum" <'> <'> <'> Clare x <'> <'> <'>

  10. I think I may have already put my name to this, is it in the Leeds area ?
  11. Ah TN here's my some big <'> <'> <'> for you, that information on dress code sounds awful and very dictatorial, if they are like that about what you wear and look like, well goodness knows what they would be like with the actual work....probably expect you to use a quill pen and an abacus !!!! Think I would have done the same thing. Good luck with your next interview and chin up, the right job will come along. Clare x

    the job i hate!!

I am rubbish at duvets too and can't get the hang of the inside out thing. Maybe we should ask the beeb for repeats of That's Life for a re-cap. But hate cleaning the windows more all that hard work and they still end up looking all smeared !

    Introductions!!

Welcome Jayne, this forum is great as you have probably read these guys are so understanding, supportive and knowledgable. Sounds like you need to have a good talk with the school and make clear with them the process you are currently undertaking, I managed to get the Senior Social Worker at Camhs to write to school to explain my son's difficulties prior to DX highlighting support he might need and offered contact should the school require information on how they could support my child. Its all a big battle you just have to keep fighting, no one knows your child better than you. Good Luck <'> <'> <'> Clare x

  18. <'> <'> <'> Tyler's Mum, Wish I too could say somehting to make it all better for you, be strong and keep posting on here your feelings, it does help and this wonderful network of people on this forum do really understand and are right there behind you. It hurts so much when even close family members make such comments, I know from expereince but don't think perhaps "they" will ever understand or realise that its support I need, not judgemental comments. Hope you turn a corner real soon. Take care <'> <'> <'> Clare x
