    Karate..

Hi Brook I took my son to Karate when he was 7, (ASD/ADHD). He did really well in the classes but the school asked me to stop taking him because he kept using karate on the other kids. It was such a shame!
  3. Hi Helen I wish you all the luck in the world! Its not so bad, i've been 3 times and i had really nice people sitting on my panel. The only down side was the LEA, but they made thereselves look pretty stupid in the end. I will be thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed! Good Luck!
  4. Congratulation, hope it all goes well!
  5. Well done to you and Kai I really hope he enjoys his second day . Try not to feel too stressed <'> <'> he'll probably be a little angel for them.
  6. I don't know how, but someone has got hold of my bank details and tries a 'scam' on my account. I shred every thing that goes out of my house, so i don't know how its happened! My bank has frozen both my accounts so i can't get any money in or out of the bank - don't know how i'm going to live but they don't care! So be extra careful!
  7. Hi Hev I'm so pleased that Steve likes his new school. Its wonderful news!

    Risperdol

Hi Tracey My son has been risperdol for about 6 weeks now. Our psychiatrist told us that he could put on some weight, he said it would be about 10-14lbs. He only takes 0.5mg twice a day and the difference in him is remarkable! Its really helped him, he's like a different person. And its made my life much less stressful too!
  11. Good luck for Monday, I hope everything goes well for you!
  12. Isn't it just lovely when this happens. I'm so pleased it all went well. <'>
  13. Congratulations to you Kirstie!
  14. Hi Caroline It took my 5 year to get my son diagnosed with AS/ADHD/Dyspraxia/Dyslexia. The LEA turned down the statement twice and three days before going to Tribunal, they decided they would statement him. He was nearly 15 athe time. You have to fight for everything. Even when you have your statement in your hand, you still have to fight! My son couldn't cope in a main stream setting and now attends a specialist school for AS in the private sector. Good Luck
  15. Companies should be giving their staff 'Disability Ettiquette Training'. This should cover the unseen 'Disabilities'.

  21. Hi Try Gabbitas if you are looking for a school especially for as, the link is; www.gabbitas.co.uk or the Surrey NAS have a good listing for special schools: www.mugsy.org My son did really well in mainstream but when he went into year 7 every thing just snowballed. He now attends in independant AS school which is really fantastic. I hope you find what you are looking for.

    cahms

Hi Hev We had the same with our Camhs team. They just sat and talked about R's behaviour and we went out feeling the same as when we came in! They did ask me how they could help, but just didn't have the funding to support anything.
