  1. I tend to do this if asked for an opinion.I like to weigh up all viewpoints fully to be certain of what I think.xx
  2. Do whar works for you-all families are different.I've got 6 children aged between 19 and 7,so I'm hardly likely to hit upon something that would please everyone. I'm sure having space to do your own thing is preferable to getting an ulcer or high blood pressure from the level of tension that would result. Your friend's wife needs to remember that all families are different and that there are no hard and fast rules to govern how families operate.xx
  3. Yes,it isn't easy.Every so often reality hits.my son has asked me why he doesn't have any friends.That's heartbreaking.xx

    Help!!!!!!

I am so glad that you finally got a resolution to your son's plight. You had a real battle and I'm so glad that you proved a lot of professionals wrong along the way. I hope that your son will thrive in his new placement.I'm pretty sure that I might have met you elsewhere on the web;I'm thrilled that things are now going so much better.xx
  5. I'm wondering how the situation panned out?The SALT wants to discharge my son, with similar observations and I feel rather like you that she just doesn't 'get' it. In our case,SALT is in part 6 of the statement,so it can be withdrawn quite easily.Although there is still plenty that I want worked on,the School are doing much of it anyway,so I'm tempted to let it go.xx
  6. Aarrrrrrrrggggggggggggggg, breaking out in a cold sweat at the idea of School shoes. However, you may be on to something regarding it being quiet at present;I may well take him soon.xx
  7. I've got mixed feelings.my son is staying at his (excellent)Special school but he is moving up a key stage. This means someone else will be at the annual reviews because of staffing changes.xx
  8. My sons are heavily into RuneScape, too. They are NT but their level of interest is bordering on the obsessional.xx
  9. No,it's a fictional account,with snippets of truth thrown in.xx
  10. Have a great break.Hope the weather is good for you.xx
  11. I live in South Hampshire and had a battle to get a statement for my son, too. He was turned down first time but so many people got on their case that they left him at Special School (he'd been in the Nursery)while it was sorted out.he's stayed on at the School and made excellent progress.xx
  12. My son usually takes packed lunches to School.Every so often, they have a special theme 9harvest/Christmas/intercultural day) and they offer a special lunch tied into the theme. He generally has the special lunches.xx
  13. My husband hates the 'you're a real loser' advert and I hate the one for relief of piles, where the woman moans at her partner for fidgetting-and then someone turns round and tells him to shush. If she didn't moan in the first place---xx
  14. Rhodri has the same fears and there is no real answer. He says that he wants to live always and never die.xx
  15. My son has a statement but we had a battle to get one.he is now making excellent progress at a specisl School.xx
  16. Can I join the Rock Bottom Club, too?I've got the post-DLA form filling blues.xx
  17. The happy ending is a fabrication, which frustrates the preson who the story is basec on.The names of the children have been changed and they are using the middle names of all concerned. It's going to be called Magnificent 7.xx
  18. Our children seem like lambs to the slaughter. We've twice had real problems on holiday;last year some children threw Rhodri into the bark chippings and pushed his head up and down in them-because he wanted to play with an older child's girlfriend.(Rhodri was 6 and a half at the time). The year before,he was taunted because he was making the noise of the green man.xx
  19. OOh that doesn't sound very safe.glad to know that no real harm was done.xx
  20. The charity sounds truly wonderful. In our area, there are playschemes but lots of people fighting tooth and nail for the same places. I expect that the charity are always looking for fundraising ideas to allwo their work to continue.xx
  21. ((((((Jomarie and all those whose children have recently been diagnosed)))))). It's not easy coming to terms with the fact that your child has a lifelong disorder.it does get easier as time passes.xx
  22. I haven't applied for a blue badge in Hampshire beccause of the criteria.I'm hoping to get one by trying for higher rate mobility component.xx
  23. I just love their literal take on language. Rhys was complaining to me that Rhodri had kept him awake by repeating A Simpson's episode verbatim for over two hours. He said to me 'my brain EXPLODED!!!'Rhodri turned to him and said 'have you got a new brain, then?'xx
