my 4 year old is on school action plus in mainstream no statement receives speech therapy,and small group work. no dx as yet.

my son hates smells too he can smell everything really strong and when we r out hes always questioning me as to what "that" smell is -he hates the pet food smell in shops and starts shouting ugghhhh-poo and all sorts . he dose it with most smells and food. i remember when i was pregnant i could smell everything real strong so it must be like that for them.....and certain things made me retch.....i could even smell dog wee in the grass when i was walking along the footpath.........

well done just a mum- i wasnt sure how i could explain it right to u as i have trouble meself,takes me a while to work computer stuff out lol hi tally hope your doing well? no its not mine i got it of a site but i do have a black cat that dose nip me like that-lol usually when its wanting feeding ,ha.

what drink did u have ? both my 2 boys [ones nt] go berserk when they had them purple fruit shoots so i never buy them now-if we go for odd treat i get them the milk with the happy meal . ive noticed to they sell them fruit shoots in nearly every venue for kids/or where kids play ie; wacky warehouse ect.....and the other alternative is fizzy pop which also dose the same-so when i go out i usually take my kids a drink from home ......

my son whos 5 in june still in nappies at night too.

my 4 year old is quite adamant he wants to be a girl and dress up like one too .

i watched my 2 boys at mothers day assembly,they held a pic up what they drawn of me and 4 year olds had thank u mummy on it,ahhhhhhhhhh....i remembered to cam corder it too. as at the nativity play i forgot to take a camera and my 4 year old was very cross with me......but he also didnt like me filming him and kept pointing saying put that down,,,,,,,u cant win......

LOL AT PAULA GO GIRL TELL IT LIKE IT IS -you sound like me ,ha, but thats cr*p for u hev -if thats all they can say -im still hoping my son will get dx by camhs soon-is that all they do tell u to use star charts ??? cause ive already done it for my 4 year old -ive got senco telling me to do penny charts aswell and golden moments book oh yeah and pick my son up from school .....and go park and us all stand there screaming ..... to get the rage out ,,,,,,,,yeah sure im going show me self up some more doing that ?? ,,,,,,,GET REAL

<'> <'> i have to say i feel like this has happened to me aswell and it did all stem from one person saying my son was fine and theres nothing wrong. hes 5 in june -i think it turned everyone else agaisnt me really-ive had all different members of my family coming to these appointments just to prove my son dont just do it with me. i know they dont want to label a child but whats the use of leeting them go on suffering getting no help cause everyones saying there ok. ive been told it can take years to dx -i have to say ive lost my rag with a few people at these appointments because its a complete joke that my nephew suffered all his life and only got dx at 25 . im hoping im now getting somewhere but u just never know-so i enlisted my sis to come to appointments ect.... for back up and im going be taping his meltdowns to on cam corder.just for extra proof as hes perfect in school and i suspect school think im making moutains out of mole hills .

<'> <'> <'> sending u some hugs my 4 year old is same as soon as he wakes up the cycle starts screaming /ranting /refusing to co operate -then i get my 3 year old copying it-i really dread getting up then i dread 3 o clock cause it all starts again-as soon as he leaves school doors its round 2 . its just not fair that u cant get a break -my sister was asking dr other day if i could get some help -ive asked social services 3 times now for care assessment -dr said he would write to them -doubt it though. im single parent and if i go down hill who will actually look after my boys-they have no contact from there dad or any of that side of family -my parents are in there 70s-my sis works -other sis has 25 year old with AS and tourettes and ocd so she cant help much. you think there would be more help

hi ya ive been on anti depressents for years now so long in fact they caused me to rapid cycle from down to up-like bi polar only the phycharist told me i had rapid cycling mood disorder. and ocd too-i do the lists things and keep checking stuff-but i really do reckon my son has brought this ocd out in me too like paula says you start merging into there personalty after a while -i swear my son has ocd and hes been assessed for AS. it gets so hard to think when my son is round me that i have to check all angles ect... when im doing simple jobs because i know how easy an accident can happen and it occurs alot around my son -ie ; end up locking car keys in car on car parks /locking my self out of house /leaving purse in shops ect.........had this happen so much that i need to check everything i do now . im on anti ds and mood stabilser and have appointments every 3 months-may start having cbt or some other things..... i know ive become like a hermit -ive always been quite but the melt downs that occur with my son in public has nearly made me house bound, it really is all down to the stress-its not suprising we parents are in this situation because its the stress that piles it all on top of you when dealing with our children. so dont feel alone <'>

i got letter today off them saying someone will ring me up soon to come out and see me and my son been waiting since about sept last year . they want reports and names of folk involved-hope it wont matter that my son still has no dx on paper as yet?? or a statement of needs,it says they need school aswell -they havnt really been helpfull with me so far so hope all this dont go agaisnt me .

<'> hi yes it went quite well with camhs they listened to me and was quite understanding my son goes with me on next appointment in april we did talk about aspergers and im feeling bit more hopefull that they are listening now .......so we shall see..... also had appointment thur with consultant and i took my sister and hubby along to talk about there son who has been dx as he took down his details and is going to check his medical notes too-as my sister feels my son is alot like hers when he was younger,,,,,,,so its looking lot better so far.....................

my 4 year old thinks he controls me and my 3 year old -as we have no father around i think he also thinks its his role too i came up with phrases that i repeat to him alot like "whos in charge?" to which i remind him he says mummy and "who pays the bills/looks after the house ect...."...................mummy "who looks after you both and takes care of you ?.....................mummy sounds odd i know -but its as if this needs to be said as he dont assumes it himself apart from that and constant reminders that hes the child and i am 30 years old and older/wiser than him,and i tell him what to do -not sure what else u can do ive got charts and rules up on fridge door and naughty chair and egg timer so i do try

hi board-this is exactly prob im having with my son hes 4 my mum and dad also say well how come he treats us lot like dirt and screams /hits ,ect.... then go school and say not a word im trying to get folk to believe me at moment-ongoing process

hi everyone ive wrote down those u have listed in last post do u think i should send a letter about this asking if they use this ? as i also thought the ados test wasnt clear enough to show up my sons probs like jen rose says its not really for aspergers -shall i mention this too maybe i should write in a letter before i take my son to next appointment???
