We both went with Phas jr to pick up his GCSE results this morning. He was as cool as a cucumber whilst we were a bag of nerves!!! We used to live next door o the school and have witnessed days like today many times...we never realised how much torture it was for the parents in the car park till today. When we look back at everything he (and we) have gone through to get here it has been something of an emotional rollercoaster, to say the least. Was it all worth it, the meetings with his teachers, the meetings with the various heads, the LEA meetings and the fight for transport when he was being bullied to death on the way home???

ABSOLUTELY!

He sat 12 GCSE's in total and got the following:

German D

French C

Statistics C

English Lit C

English B

Science Double B (in each of the three sciences)

D&T: Electronic Products B

Then he got A for these:

Mathematics

History

Religious Studies

We're having a real proud mum and dad moment!!!!

To everyone who is having a fight with their LEA and is finding life in mainstream hard - keep fighting, keep talking to the school and hang on in there. It can be done...Phas jr has proved that.

thank you for all your congrats. we have passed them on to phas jr who got very embarrased. just to update you all, he has been accepted into 6th form and will be studying biology, chemistry, enviromental science and higher maths at A level to enable him to go to uni to study forensic science, forensic criminology and archeology. then he wants to do a doctorate in paleobiology [sp] and paleontology[sp] so no pressure there then. we will continue worrying for a few more years :hypno::hypno:
